October is Substance Use Prevention Month—a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and remind our community that support is available and that substance use is treatable.

Prevention starts with education, connection, and knowing where to turn for help. If you or someone you care about is struggling with substance use, you don’t have to face it alone.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we pause to honor and celebrate the diverse cultures, stories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities, as well as the voices within our own Tri-County family.

This week, we are proud to highlight Katherine Mendoza Bibb, Multisystemic Therapy Clinical Supervisor, who shares her perspective on breaking down stigma and creating space for more open conversations around mental health and substance use.

Her insights remind us that speaking openly, seeking support, and encouraging others to do the same can help create a more understanding and supportive community.

Our Tri-County team came together for the Out of the Darkness Walk, hosted by the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention (AFSP), to raise awareness, spread hope, and show our support for su***de prevention.

Every step was a reminder that we are stronger when we walk together and that no one should have to face their struggles alone.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to AFSP for bringing our community together for such a meaningful event.

Throughout September, our Tri-County team came together to share messages of hope, encouragement, strength, and kindness in recognition of Su***de Prevention Month.

Staff filled our Wall of Hope with words of support and reminders that no one has to face difficult moments alone. These messages were shared with our clients as a “Take What You Need” wall—giving them an opportunity to take a message of encouragement whenever they needed one.

We’re grateful to everyone who took the time to share a little hope.
