June is halfway over but there is still more fun to be had at the library!

If you've got a student interested in coding, join us for code club at 12pm today! We'll have pizza available for participants.

If you've got elementary-aged kids, join us on Monday, June 22nd, at 10am for our STEAMonday program. We'll be learning about maps and topography in the lead-up to geology day next Wednesday!

And if you're looking to escape from your daily stress and connect over some crafts, join us every Tuesday evening from 4-6pm for Art Club! Next week we'll be making DIY Stamps :)

We can't wait to welcome you at our library :)

Today we learned about how our understanding of dinosaurs has evolved over time and designed our own unique dinosaurs! Our friend Kohen even imagined a special new kind of sea dinosaur - a Swimosaurus! We have a bunch of fun at the library so stop in next Wednesday for our Rock and Roll geology day!

This is what our art club is all about! Anyone can make art and it's the process that makes art "good," not the outcome! Join us next week for DIY stamp making on Tuesday from 4-6pm!

🎨 Today I attended the Anyone Can Art Club at the Comanche Public Library and created this neuroart piece.

I left feeling relaxed, focused, and reminded that creativity doesn't require perfection….just a willingness to try something new. Our library continues to offer opportunities for learning, connection, and fun for people of all ages, and I'm grateful for the staff who make these programs possible.

If you've ever thought, "I'm not artistic," this club is for you!
Next week's project is DIY stamps, so now is a great time to join in and give it a try.

Comanche Public Library will be closed on Friday, June 19th for Juneteenth. We will reopen at 10am on Saturday, June 20th.

We are so proud of the Library Foundation Board's decades of stewardship that have made this project possible. Our first group of children registered in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Comanche County is starting to receive their books! If you registered your children in the month of May and have received a book from Dolly, please share those pictures with us!

If you live in Comanche County, have children ages 0-5, and haven't registered them to receive a free book every month from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, please take a moment to register your child here: https://imaginationlibrary.com/check-availability/? =US

Children enrolled in the program receive a free, developmentally-appropriate book each month until their fifth birthday. Children enrolled at birth can establish their own library of 60 books by the time they graduate the program! This program is completely free to enrolled families, made possible through grants from the Comanche Educational Foundation and the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.

We've enrolled 60 kids as of this week and look forward to enrolling more families in this great resource! If you have additional questions, please call the library at 325-356-2122 or stop by to chat at 508 E Central Ave!

We really DIG summer reading! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Dino Dig yesterday. If you have pre-school and elementary-aged kids, join us next week on Wednesday at 10am for another week of Summer Reading!
