Rejoice! Celebrate! For we know that He rose from the dead! The announcement of the angel found in the synoptic gospel, "He is not here; He has risen." Matthew 28:6 will bring us three great truth that will transport us from the profane into the divine.
First is the Defeat of Death. When Joseph of Arimathea asked Pilate to take down the Body of Christ for proper burial, Pilate make sure that Jesus is indeed dead by the affirmation of the soldier who executed the Lord. In addition, He positioned military guards to make sure that sealed tomb is intact. Death is the enemy of all humanity, it is a curse that grip our soul, held our being into the prison of eternal damnation called hell. The Bible tells us that death has no longer claim upon those who put their faith to Christ.
Second is The Affirmation of His Words. In the narrative Jesus challenge his persecutors by telling them destroy this temple and i will build it in Three days. Imagine if He does not rose as He promise, all of the Scriptures and His words are in vanity and lies. Meaning you and me is still in the bandage and grip of our sins; you and me is on the march head-on into our destiny, everlasting damnation as His words are true. if He did not rose from the dead your faith and mine is vanity, pointless and nonsense.
Lastly is The Power of His resurrection. When He rose from the dead the Bible tells us that He manifest in His full glory that even the soldiers who guard the tomb fell unconcious. But to His disciples it brings great joy from a sorrowful heart into a powerful living life. We gradually witness how this power of Christ ressurection transformed their life. The book of Acts is a living testimony of the unfolding power of Christ ressurection. They preach with power, they walk with the Lord through the manifest presence of the Lord. You and me can live in the same power of the resurrection. again "He is not here; He is risen."
