“At its core, my work asks how the relationship between pattern, form and the space a vessel inhabits shift and become visible,” says Eri Sugimoto. “Pattern is not an added surface layer. It is an active element that reshapes how form is perceived and how it relates to the surrounding space.”
Sugimoto’s Thin legged Vases was awarded the ODC Artist Scholarship Award. It is on view, along with work by 68 other artists, now through July 3rd, in the “Best of 2026” juried member’s exhibition at the Ohio Craft Museum.

“In the development of these forms, I intentionally steer away from binary attitudes in early formation stages, encouraging a necessary reliance between the glass and supporting industrial elements like metal, wood or shifting aggregate,” says Santiago Mora. “Glass, in this context, acts as an instrument toward visualizing the dynamic thrill of balance across all of its contexts, allowing me to strive for cruising altitude across a sensitive triad of concept, craft and genuine connection.”
Mora’s Brush Strokes 02 was awarded the Emerging Craftsman Scholarship Award in Memory of Julie Yassenoff. It is on view, along with work by 68 other artists, now through July 3rd, in the “Best of 2026” juried member’s exhibition at the Ohio Craft Museum.

“Using clay as a record of time and touch, I aim to make objects that invoke investigation of landscapes and place; how they grow and decay over time,” says Sam McCall. “Forms are made slowly with consideration to volume and breath, often blooming out from the table.”

“My work for the past 30 years or so has been greatly influenced by my childhood, growing up on a small farm,” says Liz Hunt. “As back then, today the experience of going into the woods to gather materials is an energizing and fascinating activity.”
