This past weekend we were joined by an amazing group of women to plant and beautify the garden spaces at our Champion Ave location. They were led by CELC board member, Faith Rivera. In addition to getting our garden looking amazing, they also helped us to plant a memorial tree for the late Jerri Braswell, who began her teaching journey at this center. ♥️🌳

Another fantastic planting day thanks to our friends at Hilltop Education Corporation!

"Mental health consultation has a trickle down effect, helping not just individual students, but their classmates and teachers. In studies, educators have reported feeling empowered through mental health consultation, a shift that could improve retention and outcomes for the women who make up 95 percent of the child care workforce."

Early intervention holds the possibility for amazing outcomes for children and families!

Kids in child care are expelled at 3 times the rate of older kids. Mental health consultants could lower the rate and stabilize the industry.

What an absolutely fantastic day! 🌞 Together with and the Crane Group, we broke ground on a playground for kids to enjoy for years to come. Plus, we planted herbs, veggies, and flowers with our pre-K friends AND we did some much needed spring cleaning of our South Side facility- all in the 80+ degree heat! 🌡️ You all worked so hard to give kids a fun and safe learning environment.🙏 We are incredibly thankful for our amazing community partners who make it all possible.♥️

Today, we commemorate the anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education, the landmark Supreme Court decision that declared school segregation unconstitutional and affirmed that every child deserves equal access to education.

More than 70 years later, the work of creating equitable opportunities for children and families continues. Access to high-quality early learning, supportive environments, inclusive classrooms, and educational opportunity still depends too heavily on race, income, and zip code.

At Columbus Early Learning Centers, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, supported, and empowered to thrive from the very beginning. Early childhood education has the power to shape lifelong outcomes, and equity must remain at the heart of that work.
