Throughout the month of September, our community showed what it means to Go Gold Together. 🎗️

Together, you raised more than $15,500 to support Ohio families facing childhood cancer.

So far this year, NC4K has provided financial support to 142 families facing childhood cancer.

That support has helped families remain safely housed, keep their utilities connected, put food on the table, and fill their gas tanks for repeated trips to the hospital.

But each payment represents more than a bill covered.

It gives a parent one less urgent worry. It creates greater stability during an unpredictable time. And it gives families more room to focus on what matters most: caring for their child and one another.

We are proud of what this community has made possible, but the requests for help continue. Every month, more families turn to NC4K while facing missed work, reduced income, and household expenses that do not stop during treatment.

Childhood cancer changes life for siblings, too.

According to the National Cancer Institute, approximately 50% of siblings of children with cancer report post-traumatic distress symptoms during treatment.

Siblings may experience anxiety, loneliness, family separation, disrupted routines or fear about what will happen to their brother or sister. They may also feel overlooked as attention understandably centers on the child receiving treatment.

That is why supporting a child with cancer must include supporting the whole family.

Through emotional support and Events for Play, NC4K creates opportunities for siblings to feel included, reconnect with their families, and simply enjoy being kids.

Every kid in a family facing cancer deserves to feel seen, supported, and less alone. 💛
