A very special and loved little boy, Owen Chase Janidlo, turns 10 today, and we are wishing him and his family peace as they celebrate this milestone that comes with so many emotions. Owen’s mom, Kerry, co-founded Alive In My Heart in his memory in 2017, and through our work, his far too short life has a BIG legacy. Equally big is the love that Kerry, dad Jason, and his three sisters have for him. They keep his memory alive beautifully even as they miss him on Earth. Happy birthday, Owen….wow, 10! Whether you are a parent walking in remembrance of your own precious baby, a grandparent honoring a grandchild, an aunt or uncle remembering a beloved niece or nephew, a friend showing support, or simply someone who wants to help raise awareness for pregnancy and infant loss—we invite you to walk with us. 💕

This day is about remembering precious lives, speaking their names, supporting grieving families, and reminding those who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a baby that they are not alone. 🦋

We are also working on the final design for this year’s event T-shirts, and ordering information will be coming soon! 👕

Please help us spread the word, invite others, and save the date. Together, we can honor our angels and bring awareness to a loss that touches so many families.

This gathering is a meaningful opportunity to remember your babies, honor your love for them as their parents, and connect with others who understand this journey of grief. You are not alone.

To the moms for whom this day is complicated - we wish you peace. Guard your hearts, do or don't do exactly what you need today. Honor your emotions when you can. It's okay if you can't show up in a celebratory way today. It's okay if you are in a place where you do feel like celebrating. For the moms who co-founded Alive In My Heart, we've felt it all in the 9 mother's days we have had after losing Annelise, Owen and Jacob. Years where it was heavy, and years where we felt okay. No matter what you are feeling, please know you are not alone!

We are thinking of all the grieving moms today on Bereaved Mothers Day. It's a day we wish we didn't know existed, and if you're more comfortable ignoring it and having a normal Sunday, we understand that feeling. We also want to make sure, for those of you with whom it resonates, that we honor and celebrate your motherhood to any baby to whom you had to say goodbye. We see your love for them, and we see you continue to show up even in a life that isn't on the path you hoped for. We see your strength even when you don't feel it. We see the work you do to heal and we see when you're brave enough to let the hard emotions take over. We know they need their moments to be felt. Your grief is a testimony to your love, and that is a powerful thing. Most of all, this bereaved mother's day, we hope that you know that you are NOT ALONE. Take care of yourself today and in the days and weeks to come. Your heart is worth caring for and protecting.

Join us Saturday June 6th to celebrate the fierce love you have for the baby or babies you miss. We know that during the Mother's and Father's day celebration, this particular type of parenthood can be overlooked and conventional celebrations can be a painful reminder of who and what we are missing. But we see you and how you parent, honor, love and remember your babies even though they're not here. It's not the way any of us would like to be parents, but your love for them and dedication to their memories is worthy of acknowledgment and celebration. We will read baby names, enjoy light brunch food and refreshments, and complete a remembrance craft to take home. Spaces are filling quickly and we do have a capacity limit, so please RSVP at your earliest convenience at the link in the comments!
