The main part of the storm has passed. It is still raining but I've driven the fences. One large limb is down from one of our trees and a few limbs/trees down along a shared fence for the short field, but the barns are still intact. I led Missy and Charlie by lantern light, out of the short field, back over with the herd in the center and west fields. All animals are safe and are secure for tonight.

6/13/2026 There's something I dont see every day. Sergeant, Andy, Sonny, and Gloria all sharing the water trough together.

Updates:
1) Star is doing much better since his adjustment. I ordered an 8-head messager with red light therapy yesterday to help further loosen up his muscles. He is back to his daily Equioxx.
2) Missy thoroughly enjoys being with Charlie. As a bonus, she gets a breakfast cookie treat while Charlie is eating.
3) Shiloh has adjusted to her grass restriction and daily routine and is often standing in the littles enclosure waiting for her morning hay. No longer on pain meds and no stiff legged walk since her trim.
4) Dallas still has a little limp and is recieving 1/2 scoop of Bute with dinner. Still wrapping his hoof for the abscess.
5) Rain has a sweet spot to rub, on the right side of her neck just behind her jaw. She loves light scratches there and melts into my hand. We are working on her lowering her head on request. Supposed to help her relax.
6) Topped 1/2 of the mid field for Buck today and freshened up his water.
7) Had to take Jenni's back boots off and scrub them. They caught some poo. Might have to figure out something different for her back legs.
8) Adding 1T iodized table salt to Charlie's meals, in case his swollen thyroid is caused by iodine deficiency. He's not really a fan of it and tends to leave it in his trough.
9) Andy is obsessed with his belly rubs. It is hard to get any work done with him around.
10) Sergeant's hives are being treated with Coat Defence powder. Seems to soothe the itch.
11) Gloria has been squeeling at everyone.
12) Sonny is regularly the last one up for dinner every day. It seems to have become his thing.
13) Skippers spit in my face the other evening, totally out of the blue. No more sniffing hair or evening kisses for him for a while. Fool me once...
14) I went out to the west field a few nights ago to retrieve Blondi. She hadn't come up for dinner per her usual. She was fine. Just leery to pass the herd. Someone must have got after her. She seemed thankful for the es**rt.
15) Benni hates horse flies but they seem to love him. I need to find something that I can treat him with to deter them.

Ok, that is it for now. Listening to the thunder roll. On storm watch tonight. Pray it passes.

6/10/2026 Another abscess for our fav little man. Darn it. Packed it with some epson salt poultice and bandaged it up this evening. He is looking great weight-wise and is all shed out for the summer. We just need to get in front of these episodes.

6/9/2026 The half (6) of the herd in the feeding barn received their first summer application of deep-penetrating hoof conditioner this evening. I'll get the other half tomorrow. Shiney toes all around, including Rain. Trying to keep in front of the typical summer dry out this year. Starting early.

6/9/2026 Star's therapy session this evening. They worked on him for an hour. He'll have an hour rest break before dinner. Doc adjusted his pole, ribs, and spine and stretched his legs. Zack followed up with a laser. We will know over the next few days if it helps.
