Learning, growing, and exploring new possibilities — one aisle at a time! 🛒

A crew from our Cherokee County Service Center in Columbus visited Ron's Supermarket in Pittsburg on Tuesday to learn what it takes to keep a locally owned grocery store running. From exploring different departments to discovering job opportunities and the skills needed to succeed, it was a fun and meaningful day of learning.

Experiences like these help build real-world life skills, job readiness, confidence, and independence while creating connections that make our community stronger.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Tim Rhodes and our friends at Ron’s Supermarket for being such an incredible community partner to CLASS over the years! Your continued support helps create opportunities for the individuals we serve to learn, grow, and explore their potential.

Science Rocks! 💎

As part of their monthly science projects, the crew at our Labette County Service Center in Parsons went on a gemstone hunt! They dug for gemstones, looked up the names, and are turning their discoveries into cool keychains.

From exploring and identifying different gemstones to getting creative with their own designs, our individuals are having fun and discovering that learning can be an adventure!

🔧🚗 Revving Up Our Career Skills! 🚗🔧

Today, a crew from our Cherokee County Service Center got an inside look at what it takes to work in the automotive industry during a visit to the service department at Mike Carpino Ford in Columbus.

From learning how the service department operates to exploring different job opportunities, our group got to see firsthand that there’s more to an automotive business than just cars. They learned about workplace expectations, the skills needed for different jobs, and what it takes to be a successful member of a team.

Experiences like this are about more than exploring careers — they’re about building confidence, developing job-ready skills, and becoming active, connected members of our community.

A big THANK YOU to Jay Wary and the team at Mike Carpino Ford for opening their doors, sharing their knowledge, and helping our individuals discover what’s possible.
