Recognizing the profound impact these activities have on students’ personal and artistic development, this scholarship is awarded to Columbus High School students who actively participate in these enriching pursuits. In memory of Sue Maxwell and Chris (Herrenbruck) Crandon, the Columbus Unified High School Class of 1986 has established the CUHS Class of 1986 Friendship Scholarship. This scholarship will weigh heavily on the applicants’ responses regarding friendship.

It's time to recognize our 2026 scholarship recipients!

First up is the Charles & Jane Maxwell Memorial Scholarship.

Scholarship Requirements: Applicants must be Columbus Unified High School Seniors with at least three semesters at CUHS, Attending a post-secondary college or university in Kansas or an adjacent state, Two letters of recommendation, Scholarship application questionnaire, Description of an elderly person or persons that has made a profound impact or impression on his/her life and how they will use this experience to “Pay it Forward.”
