Our hearts are full after an emotional evening on the steps of City of Columbus - City Hall. Special thanks to Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein and many other community social service leaders and partners for organizing the candlelight vigil to raise awareness of domestic violence and honor victims and survivors. Our executive director, Bridget DeCrane, shared powerful insight and inspired our community to work together to overcome this issue.

๐Ÿ‚ Fall harvest fest was a blast! Our kids went apple fishing, chucked pumpkins, took the pumpkin walk and bounced their way through the afternoon. A special thank-you to Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein who stopped by the shelter to share cornbread, help with bobbing for apples and the musical cake walk and spend time with our families. Zach is a strong champion for justice for domestic violence survivors, and we're grateful he showed up for our families.

Thanks to the The Columbus Foundation for a $15,000 grant to give weighted blankets, plush therapy animals and other therapeutic items to survivors staying at our emergency shelter. These small comforts ease anxiety and bring a sense of safety, and they're theirs to keep when they move into a safe home of their own.
