Each night of a traditional Afghan wedding features a unique gown worn by the bride. While green is worn for the engagement to signify fertility and new beginnings, a red dress is typically chosen for the official ceremony to represent the joy of a new union. Kitenge is a versatile fabric made of cotton and is popular across East, Central, and parts of West Africa. Each region adds different elements to the fabric's designs, showcasing their unique cultures. The fabric is used for every day wear and accessories, as well as special occasion attire.

This traditional dress is typically worn by women of the Rvwang people of Burma for special occasions including weddings and festivals. The complete dress includes a hat (gobam), rattan hoop belt (ari), shell belt, skirt, bead-embellished top, and hemp-woven shawl. The stripes in the skirt hold deep symbolism and represent major rivers in Burma, while the diamond shapes draw remembrance of ancestral migration.
