Each night of a traditional Afghan wedding features a unique gown worn by the bride. While green is worn for the engagement to signify fertility and new beginnings, a red dress is typically chosen for the official ceremony to represent the joy of a new union. The dresses are adorned with mirror work, braid embroidery (Charma Dozi), and accents of jewelry or coins.
