One of the most meaningful resources included in our care packages is a children’s book we discovered through a Facebook caregiver support group.

The author, Jennifer Randazzo, wrote Grandpa & Lewy after her own father’s journey with Lewy body dementia. At the time, she also had young children and was trying to find a way to help them understand what was happening in their grandfather’s life.

This book gently bridges that gap. It offers families a way to explain LBD to children in a compassionate, age-appropriate way, while also providing comfort and understanding for adults navigating similar conversations.

We are grateful to be able to share resources like this with families who need support, encouragement, and tools for difficult moments.

One of the most valuable caregiving resources is often another caregiver.

Families navigating Lewy Body Dementia learn quickly that some of the best advice comes from people living this journey every day.

The practical tips, small routines, helpful tools, and shared experiences from other caregivers can make an incredible difference during difficult seasons.

We would love to create a space where caregivers can learn from one another.

What is one resource, habit, tool, app, book, podcast, website, or caregiving tip that has genuinely helped you or your family?

It could be something simple that brought comfort, created structure, improved communication, or made daily caregiving feel a little more manageable.

LBD shares symptoms with Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease, which is why it is often misdiagnosed or diagnosed late. Many families spend months or even years searching for clarity.

If you are in the early stages, keep documenting symptoms. Keep asking questions. Keep advocating when something does not feel right.

Most importantly to remember is that you want to document what you see, not what you think it means. That helps physicians evaluate patterns more accurately.

We recently sent out 9 care packages, with another one on its way to a local family here in Columbia. In this photo are four packages headed to Scotland, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.

What started in Columbia continues to grow into something much bigger: connection, education, and support for families navigating Lewy Body Dementia.
