🚨 DUCK RIVER RESPONSE 🚨

On Thursday, 6/11/26 @ 7:38 PM, MCFD was dispatched to the Duck River at the 145 mile marker for a sinking boat. Two occupants were safely on shore; however, they were located on a cliff face and unable to move. Members launched a boat and also walked in on foot to the area to make contact.

Boat 21 successfully retrieved the two occupants and returned them to the Iron Bridge boat ramp. The half sunken boat is still on the river until it can be retrieved.

In one of the attached images you can see the important roll the 911 center plays in transmitting exact locations of the 911 caller to MCFD so that our responders can accurately respond to the correct location via land and water.

A long night for area first responders. Proud of the hard work of all the agencies involved. We hate to see this happen to a staple in our community, but hopefully they will be able to come back stronger than ever.

Columbia Fire & Rescue responded to a reported commercial structure fire shortly after 12:40 a.m. on Friday, at Columbia Farm Supply, located at 170 Bear Creek Pike.

Heavy fire conditions were throughout the building and within minutes, the fire had intensified.

Columbia Fire & Rescue would like to thank the Columbia Police Department, Maury County Sheriff's Office, Maury County Fire, Spring Hill Fire, Mt. Pleasant Fire, Maury Regional EMS, Columbia Power and Water Systems, and all assisting agencies for their support and cooperation during this incident.

🚨 SANTA FE SCIENCE CLASS EGG DROP 🚨

Recently members helped Santa Fe Unit School’s 4th Grade Science Class with an egg drop project. Truck 21 and Engine 31 came to assist. It was a fun time to see the various ideas for their eggs to land safely…..although there may have been a few scrambled as a result. 😁
