Good afternoon. For many of our family and friends tomorrow is going to be a hard day. Three years ago we lost our son Kevin to su***de. We have all worked hard in our own ways to continue to share his love for fishing and serving his community. Sometimes we have been more successful than others because it is hard to do sometimes. So we have a couple of challenges for you.

1. Every year we ask for as many people as possible to share kindness to someone throughout the day. Make it anonymous, make it known as to why, whatever that might look like for you. We would love to hear your stories about what you do or what is done for you.

2. Go to the website and sign up to be a an ongoing support partner. You can go to the website (www.thevalleyofachor.com) and click on the contribute button which will take you to PayPal. From there, you are able to make a single donation or create a recurring donation. Every penny counts. We would LOVE to have at least 10 new partners in our journey to help others find help before it is too late.

I hope that you are willing to take on the challenges above and look forward to hearing your stories of kindness.

Good never promised an easy road in this life. In fact, He promises in scripture that we will have hard times, but praise Him, He also promised to never leave us even in our darkest valley. If you’re facing a fire tonight, listen to the words in this song and take comfort in the knowledge that you aren’t walking alone.

Today we had our annual board of directors meeting. Tyler Finley was kind enough to stop by so our awesome board members could meet him in person. Tyler was the first recipient of the Kevin Whitmire Memorial Scholarship. I know we have been pretty quiet over the past year, but I promise that is changing. We will continue honoring Kevin’s memory and will continue with the memorial scholarship this coming year. We will continue to speak, as opportunities are presented about mental health, su***de awareness, and the multiple avenues available for help for those who need it. I’m extremely grateful to our board members for their passion and support and grateful to those of you have supported us in the past and I look forward to seeing the opportunities that God will put before us moving forward-Kevin M.
