County Queens Day | 08.16.2026

This past Sunday, I had the amazing opportunity to head down to the Indiana State Fair as the 2026 Miss Whitley County! I had an absolute blast throughout the entire day with the other county fair queens and walking around with my family.

It was a very full day where I walked about 7 miles. (no joke, because I double checked my fitness app to see that I was at 17,000 steps 😂)

During county queens day, we had just over 75 counties represented, which is absolutely amazing!

First on our agenda, we had an orientation meeting to learn about our state competition in January and what the job would look like as the 2027 Miss Indiana State Fair Queen.

Then we had some free time, so I was able to walk around the fairgrounds to see a few static projects, check out the glass barn, and even catch a bit of the Dairy Show in the coliseum!

After that, the queens and I made our way over to the Pioneer Village where we were introduced. And while we were waiting, the "W" counties got a picture together!

I had a blast meeting everyone, and I can't wait to see all the queens again in January!

After a busy day working the ice cream parlor and walking around the state fair, I am finally getting around to making a...

After a busy day working the ice cream parlor and walking around the state fair, I am finally getting around to making a post!

Yesterday, I had a great time working the Ice Cream Parlor in the Pioneer Village! I am so thankful for my mom and sister tagging along to help out in the booth. In one of the pictures you can even see some of our friends from Noble County visiting us before our shift got too busy. 🍨

Then, I walked a few steps down the lane to snap a quick picture with the new state fair train before it started running for the day. 🚂

Across the way from our ice cream station and the train, I got to put a sticker on the Indiana map for Whitley County! 🏡

And after we finished in the pioneer village, it was time to walk around the fair. We saw several static projects in the exhibit hall and farm bureau buildings before heading over to watch the heifer show in the coliseum.

Once we finished at the fair, we then drove the 2 hours back home to watch the greatest show on dirt! It was a wonderful time spent with family and friends, and I am thrilled to head back this Sunday for County Queen's day with the Indiana State Fair Queen Program 👑

Here are a few pictures from the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department's annual ice cream social! 🚒 🍦

Thank you so much to the department for letting me help pass out desserts! I had a wonderful time talking with other volunteers and our supportive community members during my time at the social.

Episode Five: Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department's Ice Cream Social 📍

Moving away from local businesses for a bit, today the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department has partnered with the Miss Whitley County Program to highlight their upcoming ice cream social!

This Saturday, our Washington Township Fire Department will be hosting an ice cream social from 4-7:30 p.m.

Our volunteer firefighters will be serving a dine-in menu of:

🍔 Sloppy Joe
🌭 Hot Dog
🥪 Hot Ham Sandwich
🍦 Ice Cream:
🍫 Chocolate
🍨 Vanilla
🍓 Strawberry
🍋 Lemon

Don't forget to leave with a quart or gallon of ice cream either! There are a wide variety of options: Strawberry, Chocolate, Vanilla, Lemon, Cherry, Raspberry, Maple, and Mint Chocolate Chip.
