The Salvation Army Indiana Division has received a $3,000,000 matching grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. through its Capital Project Initiative for Residential Youth Camps. The Salvation Army has launched the Transforming Lives Initiative to raise the $3,000,000 needed to receive the full matching grant.

Yesterday was a great reminder of how strong our community is. I spent the day with Darcy, Whitley County’s Community Health Nurse, and Aimee, the activities manager at Whitley County Council of Aging. Together we connected with local agencies and learned more about the many resources in Whitley County. Feeing grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with organizations that share the same vision of making our community a safe, supportive, and thriving place for all!

We are happy to announce that there is a new friendly face in the office! Please welcome Rachel Perry to our Salvation Army Team! Rachel is our new Social Services Coordinator and will be facilitating our Pathway of Hope program and Social Service Assistance in Whitley county. She is a recent Grace College graduate and has a degree in Criminal Justice and Counseling. Rachel’s work experience with The Beaman Home also brings a wonderful and compassionate understanding of how to connect with those who are wanting to set goals and work on their next steps in life.
