EXCITING NEWS:
The new VFHS website is live!
We have been working behind the scenes on a full redesign of vfhs.org, with the goal of making the site easier to navigate, more useful to animal welfare professionals across Virginia, and a much better reflection of the work VFHS and its members are doing statewide.
A few of the biggest improvements include:
Updated information on High Five Virginia, including how the program supports transfer, transport, medical care, boarding, sponsorship, and other barriers to lifesaving placement
Expanded SpayVA information and a much easier way for the public to find spay/neuter resources across Virginia
A new page for the Debra Griggs VFHS Emergency Rescue Fund, including Debra’s story, examples of the large-scale cases the fund has helped support, and how to apply
A new Members Hub bringing grants, High Five assistance, education, member benefits, the Virginia Animal Welfare Law Book, and other resources together in one place
A completely rebuilt Resources section designed to make practical animal welfare information easier to find
Updated information about VFHS programs, membership, webinars, the annual conference, and statewide initiatives
A cleaner, more mobile-friendly design throughout the site
We also used the redesign as an opportunity to better explain where VFHS is headed. Our work is increasingly centered around a three-part strategy: save lives now through transfer and transport, prevent future intake by expanding access to spay/neuter and preventive care, and strengthen communities by supporting locally led solutions.
There is still more we plan to add, particularly as the new member resource library grows, but we are excited to finally have a website that better represents the scope of VFHS and gives our members, partners, and the public a much clearer place to find information and support.
