Some of our favorite things to do: to build more connections and gain resources for first responders in Tennessee. This past week some of the TFRF First Responder Su***de Prevention Task Force members attended the Serve Strong: Corban Scott Goad Memorial Foundation First Responder Resilience Summit. We are grateful for what they are doing here in Tennessee and allowing us to be a part of their mission to honor Corban Scott Goad by serving others and supporting all First Responders (EMS, firefighters, law enforcement etc.) and also through positively impacting and supporting athletics especially athletic trainers and others who provide sideline medical services and support, and by doing other good works. If you haven’t heard of this wonderful organization, check them out at https://www.servestrong.us/

As we start the Memorial Day weekend, the Tennessee First Responders Foundation asks that you take a moment with us to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country, reflect on their heroism and ensure that their legacy lives on. We remember their courage, dedication, and the lasting impact they have on our lives and communities.

As we gather with family and friends, please remember those who fought for our freedoms and the families left behind.

Today, we want to recognize and thank the incredible mothers who serve as first responders and the families who support them every day.

For many female first responders, Mother’s Day can come with a different kind of weight. While others are gathering around the table, many are working long shifts, missing celebrations, or balancing the emotional demands of the job while still carrying the responsibilities of motherhood at home. The uniform may come off at the end of the shift, but the role of “mom” never does.

We also recognize the spouses, children, parents, and loved ones who hold down the fort behind the scenes. The missed holidays, interrupted dinners, sleepless nights, and schedule changes affect the entire family. Supporting someone in this profession often means making sacrifices together.

To all of the mothers serving in police, fire, EMS, dispatch, healthcare, corrections, and emergency response, and to the families who stand beside them, thank you. Your strength, resilience, compassion, and sacrifice do not go unnoticed.

From all of us at the Tennessee First Responders Foundation, Happy Mother’s Day. 💜

Flags across our community and country are lowered to half-staff today in recognition of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Day.

This day honors the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Each name represents a life dedicated to protecting others, a family forever changed, and a legacy that will not be forgotten.

Throughout the week, you may have also noticed red porch lights glowing in neighborhoods across our community. These lights are part of a nationwide tribute to remember and honor fallen firefighters and to show support for the families and departments they leave behind.

We stand in remembrance with departments across the country and reflect on the courage, commitment, and service that define the fire service.

Please take a moment today to remember those who gave everything.
