Hey y’all,

I know we are all about dogs here but at fdf sometimes ya gotta go with the flow.

Recently we had storms with 80mph winds blow thru the area. Yesterday as I was cleaning up all the storm debris I found this lil one. Blown from her nest like buckshot. I surely thought she was dead and prepared to give her a proper burial but NOPE… she was not dead. Her little chest was moving up and down and she was a little squiggly. After spending about 3 hours on the phone trying to locate a local wildlife rehab, I finally came across the sweetest lady in Boonville MS. Joyce Mccreary was so willing to meet us even though she would have to drive 30-45 min to meet us 1/2 way. Her eagerness to help the lil one blew me away. Ya gotta realize rehabbing, fostering and rescuing is a heartfelt calling and I truly believe she is this lil one’s hero!

So I would like to share her Amazon wishlist here in hopes that we can help her out even if it is just a little. She is not a 501c-3 but what does that matter. She has a heart of gold and for that we are sincerely grateful.

Sometimes a little is a lot! We ❤️ The Henry Haven

A HUGE thank you to Found Dog Foundation. They graciously chose us as their nonprofit of choice to support these past few months. Because of purchases from our supporters and their generosity, they sent along $250. This is such a significant help.

So many want to help animal rescue and people like them put so much hardwork and money into doing their part to help. Thank you!!

I will never understand humans. truefaithfulpetrescuemission takes in some of the saddest cases… but they NEVER turn their back on a helpless pup. Monies and desperately needed. How can anyone leave a lil helpless soul out there to fend for itself.. I mean really look at that sweet little pup.

Hello June! ☀️

Without much routine veterinary care needed in May we thought it’d be a quiet month, but we were wrong. This past month we welcomed Marcella, performing a full workup, dental with extractions, and cherry eye repair (photo below is her before surgery). Brixton tested heartworm positive and started on treatment. Roux was diagnosed with a splenic tumor, and we ultimately had to say goodbye after her being with us for just 3 shorts months. As usual, we had prescription refills totaling 9 medications this month.

As crazy as it sounds, we are already planning for next winter and have begun to slowly build our hay inventory, which was the major cost of our food category this month

Thanks to donations from our Amazon wishlist our Care bucket is the lowest it’s been in a while. Your support truly makes a difference.

For infrastructure, our spend was for building out our hay storage space, our dog run expansion, and adding the fence to the pasture expansion to (hopefully) keep the donkeys and sheep from eating the trees.

Dorothy isn’t feeling well so we’ll be kicking off June with yet another veterinary visit. Brixton will continue his Doxycycline medication for heartworms this month and have his first injection in July. Annie is also due for her 6 month ACTH stim recheck for Cushing’s Disease.

We were the recent recipient of Found Dog Foundation’s kindness when they chose to gift our sanctuary a heartbeat puppy. For those that are unaware, The Found Dog Foundation is a 501c3 that offers handcrafted items and donates 75% of their proceeds to rescues, fosters, shelters, and sanctuaries.

Shortly after receiving the heartbeat puppy they reached out saying they had chosen us as their organization of choice to support for April, May, and June. How kind and generous! 🥹

They have recently released a new offering in their lineup which are resin trays. The trays are etched with cute sayings and then sealed. They can be used as a catch all, coaster, or anything you can think of!

There are several options and sizes available.

Oval or rectangular $25

Local folks can arrange free pick up

UPDATE…

Here is our update on our “what’s in a name” post.
