2026 fundraiser - please share

We were the recent recipient of Found Dog Foundation’s kindness when they chose to gift our sanctuary a heartbeat puppy. For those that are unaware, The Found Dog Foundation is a 501c3 that offers handcrafted items and donates 75% of their proceeds to rescues, fosters, shelters, and sanctuaries.

Shortly after receiving the heartbeat puppy they reached out saying they had chosen us as their organization of choice to support for April, May, and June. How kind and generous! 🥹

They have recently released a new offering in their lineup which are resin trays. The trays are etched with cute sayings and then sealed. They can be used as a catch all, coaster, or anything you can think of!

UPDATE…

Here is our update on our “what’s in a name” post.

Thank you Dr. Kelsey & Kelsey Canine Medical Center for the opportunity to allow us to raise funds so that we may spread a lil puppy love. We were so excited to have so many generous donations from your clients that we are able to donate a total of 15 heartbeat puppies to other vets and shelters.

We named them all after love, protection and saintly…(except for two lol)

Well I hope you can forgive this delayed post, as emergency surgery for one of us and one pup in ER for a week has made life since thanksgiving a slight challenge.

BUT WE HAVE SOME FANTASTIC NEWS!

First, we would like to thank Kelsey Canine Medical Center Center for allowing us again (our 4th year) to raise funds not only to help their annual Chow Down Food Drive but also to receive donations that will let us help as many pups as possible. We simply could not do it without Dr. Kelsey (& his fantastic staff).

Thanks to such a wonderful community and their generous donations…

We raised enough funds to purchase 15 heartbeat puppies!!! We simply love this concept. We have 2 and they are the absolute must have. They have a subtle heartbeat and warming feature that will help soothe an anxious pup. It even has a slow breathing motion! When our lil one was in the ER, his lil heartbeat buddy was by his side 24/7 when I couldn’t be. I am grateful for the staff at Memphis Veterinary Specialists for allowing him to keep it for the whole week.

So, in honor of my lil guys, dr. Kelsey, and mvs, we are giving away 15 of the cuties to shelters, rescues or vets. Suggestions of those organizations would be great (no worries, this is not a contest but we would love for y’all to tag your favorite “saint”). Hopefully we will have an update for you by the end of the month of where these lil fellas find their furever home.

To the local folks who continue to support our efforts and help us raise funds, we are sincerely grateful.

For someone who loves to hand craft unique items…there is no greater compliment than to see your creations happily displayed in someones home. We cannot thank enough for her continued support. We spy at least 7 of our ornaments on her sweet pups Christmas tree!

Thanks to her and the many others who donated funds for ornaments this holiday season. Due to their extreme generosity we will be able to donate 15 Heartbeat Puppies to local rescues and shelters.

Giving Tuesday and fundraiser season is among us. We Found Dog Foundation are having 2 fundraisers right now. Kelsey Canine Medical Center is having their annual “ChowDown Food Drive” and we are honored to be able to help out. We have dog themed ornaments galore… coasters & paperweights. 100% of donations will benefit dogs in need. We are donating 25% to the food drive and the remaining 75% will go to purchasing for local shelters and rescues. Snuggle Puppy is a heartbeat puppy that helps calm dogs. Kennel stress can be horrible and we would like to make it as comfortable as possible for any pup. (Slate coasters are not available at Kelsey canine but you can contact us to get)

Our 2nd fundraiser is for House of Gino & Co. We are offering 10 cute custom photo items. 5 mini magnets and 5 mini ornaments for a $20 donation. These are so cute and make awesome stocking stuffers but you must hurry if you want for Christmas. Dec 7th is the last day to order for Christmas but….. I will be making and taking orders till Dec 31 if you aren’t in a hurry.

Hey y’all!

Well it has been a while since I have posted… but I have been hand crafting coasters and ornaments like crazy. Guess I felt the need to really catch up, cuz now I am swimming with tons of things for dog lovers. So please bear with me the next few days as I will be posting items you might like to sn**ch up. Everything is ONE OF A KIND, so if you see something you like, grab it cuz it may be gone before ya know it! (wishful thinking)

This year, donated proceeds will go to purchasing (as many as we can buy) “Snuggle Puppy” for as many shelters and rescues possible.
Snuggle Puppy is a remarkable aid to help calm a pup. Designed to calm a dog’s fears, loneliness
& separation anxiety. There is a subtle heartbeat and when placed close to your dog it quickly can calm him/her down. Kennel anxiety is rough and anything we can do to make time spent there better for them is a no-brainer. It also includes a warming pack to help comfort them. I have 2 for my crew. They go to bed with them every night. We take them on road trips to help with car anxiety. .

So please if you know a dog lover, hit us up! We have lots to choose from.

Memphis,TN: look who is back in rescue! Tucker was formerly Gage before he was adopted last Jan. His new family has received some very bad news , mom has a terminal cancer diagnosis. Tucker is doing great and has fit in with his previous foster family. He was an allergy dog who has gone thru the testing and injections. He still gets apoquel and eyebdrops and does best with frequent medicated baths. Tucker is an affectionate boy who is very low energy. He loves to go on walks. I have a soft spot for senior sanctuaries. Whispering Willows Senior Dog Sanctuary, Inc.
is such an amazing home to so many deserving souls. If possible please donate, if not that’s cool sharing this post costs nothing and can still help get the word out.

One of the greatest blessings of the work we do here at Whispering Willows, is being surrounded every day by the quiet, gentle love of our seniors.

There is something truly magical about this sanctuary, a softness in the air, a peace in the way the dogs move through their days. Whether it’s a chorus of snores coming from the nap room, the slow wag of a tail when someone settles onto a fresh bed, or the spark in their eyes when a favorite treat appears, every moment is a reminder of why we’re here.

But with that beauty also comes reality. We are almost always at capacity, which means anywhere from 50–60 senior dogs are calling Whispering Willows home at any given time.

That’s 50–60 hearts to love.
50–60 bodies to keep strong.
50–60 souls to nourish.

And when it comes to seniors, nourishment looks a little different than it does for younger dogs. Most of our residents need prescription food, specialized diets, or specific nutrition to support their aging bodies.

The truth is, keeping shelves stocked for this many seniors is no small task. It is a constant balancing act of resources, planning, and stretching every ounce of support as far as it can go. Without this community, our shelves would grow thin far too quickly. And that’s why Stock Up Sunday is so important, it gives us the chance to come together and make sure the bowls here are always full of the food that keeps our dogs thriving.

Right now, our shelves are in need of:

– Purina Beyond Chicken

Each bowl, each can, and each donation directly translates into comfort, energy, and peace for a senior who deserves nothing less. When a senior curls up content after a good meal, or when one of our more fragile friends keeps their strength because of the right nutrition, those are the moments your support makes possible.

Even in the hardest seasons, when we are stretched thin and the days feel long, the love here never runs out. And that is because of you. This community is the reason every senior who finds their way here gets to experience a final chapter full of warmth, dignity, and care.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping us keep the shelves full, the bowls filled, and the seniors happy, healthy, and deeply loved. 🐾💙
