After years working with the Maasai tribe in Tanzania our team endeavored to reach out to a new area in Tabora. “Something that surprised us was a tribe called the Taturu. They reminded us of the Maasai tribe that we minister to in Tanga. They dress similarly and have similar cultural structures, but they are not related to each other and speak a completely different language.”
Our country director, Alex Durdowski, and his team received full permission from the tribal elders to travel from village to village preaching the Gospel. Having seen incredible hunger and many hearts that joyfully received salvation, our team already has plans of returning to follow up with each person they reached. 🇹🇿

Our Water Projects Initiative💧began with a simple burden: while ministering in remote villages, we watched communities walk past broken pumps every day to drink from unsafe sources. In response, we put love into action, forming a small team to repair wells, meet basic water needs, and share the gospel as we served.

MEET THE KAONGA FAMILY 🇨🇩

“Hello, we’re the Kaongas! We met while serving in Zambia together and now work as Country Directors for Overland Missions’ launch in the Democratic Republic of Congo. For the last six years, we’ve taken on the mission of seeing the narrative about the nation change, believing that a country often defined by war, violence, poverty, and corruption can become a place of peace, integrity, and abundance.

ZANZIBAR TESTIMONY 🇹🇿

“Zaituni welcomed us into her home and sat down to hear the gospel from us. She received Jesus so eagerly and readily, and then she offered us some of the food she was preparing.
She said this:
“Now I can cook safely because I used to have depression but now I’ve received Jesus. I hope the food is sweet because today I received Christ. You gave me spiritual food, so now I will give you physical food.” - Faith P, Expedition Leader

This past week in Cambodia, more than 50 full-time Overland missionaries, both Western and local, from across Southeast Asia gathered for the annual Asia Regional Revival Week.

One of the most moving moments came through Steve, who was our team’s first contact on the ground in a new nation we were launching, and one of the first listeners to Overlands music in the entire nation. Now, only a couple years later, Steve works full-time with our team and joined the worship team this past week. The room was full of tears as Steve sang “I Give You All” over the missionary teams of Southeast Asia. A beautiful full-circle moment.

The final night was especially powerful as every nation received prayer and prophecy, and the teams were deeply touched by the Holy Spirit. The agreement and unity in the room were tangible, leaving a lasting sense of what God is doing across Southeast Asia.

Overland Missions has always been committed to doing whatever it takes to take the message of the gospel to people. For our team in Central Asia, this required a year of planning, mapping, and organizing a week long trek through the mountains, reaching people few have reached.

“Our team hiked nearly 50 miles through rain, snow, sunshine, glacial rivers, and plateaus. As we walked we encountered nomadic herders who lived scattered across the mountains.
One man welcomed us in to his home and as we were talking with him he shared he had severe back pain. We gathered around him and prayed for healing, and as we prayed we could see he was being touched by God, shaking and telling us he felt heat all in his body. He began moving freely, raising his arms, rejoicing, and repeatedly hitting his own back, in amazement that it no longer hurt.
This is one of many stories we experienced on this trip. We saw two men give their lives to Jesus and multiple more miraculously healed in their bodies.
What began with one herder inviting us in out of the rain, now has the potential to change families, relationships, and communities across this entire nomadic community.”

“All of these ladies, formerly working in prostitution, started their discipleship course not knowing the truth of the Word and who they are in Christ. This day was an important day for all 33 ladies being baptized after their discipleship program, as they publicly declared their new lives in Christ!
They are dead to the lives they previously lived in prostitution and bo***ge and they are free!
Some of the spectators said they had never attended such a “wild” baptism before. There was loads of singing, shouting, splashing of water and laughter. The joy was tangible when we baptized these 33 women who had died with Christ and rose with Him again into new life!” - Chantal, director of 180 Degrees

CHIEF MUKUNI CEREMONY 🇿🇲

This weekend we were honored to serve at the Chief Mukuni Ceremony; celebrating and honoring Chief Mukuni’s leadership and reign. For over 15 years we have been serving at this massive event because we’ve always placed immense value on traditional authority in whichever nation we are in.
It’s because of Chief Mukuni that Overland Missions Rapid 14 base is established here today, and we are endlessly thankful for his leadership over these last 40 years. Our team has the privilege of hosting a church service, sharing the Word of God, and serving the multitude of chiefs that traveled to Livingstone for the event.
It was an incredible event full of the history, culture, and celebration of the people we’ve laid down our lives to love and serve alongside.

MOZAMBIQUE EXPEDITION TESTIMONY 🇲🇿

While going home to home the team met this young man, Fredson, who gave his life to God. Shortly after he told the team, “I want to testify with you guys, I want to do what you’re doing.” So for the rest of the expedition, he would find them after school, and go home to home with us; testifying about how hearing the Gospel had changed his life.
