Monday - Friday: 10 am - 4 pm
Saturday: 10 am - 3 pm for adoptions only. Closed Sunday

(Volunteers that have been approved and have completed orientation are welcome to walk dogs or play with the cats on Saturdays with consent)

🚨 URGENT — DO YOU KNOW THIS DOG? PLEASE SHARE! 🚨

We urgently need your help finding this girl’s family.

This female white and black Poodle mix was found this morning, Monday, August 31, at 15 Mile Rd and Harper in Clinton Township. We suspect she may have been hit by a vehicle.

She was wearing a blue nylon collar and does not have a microchip.

If this is your dog, you recognize her, or you have ANY information about who her owners may be, please contact Macomb County Animal Control IMMEDIATELY at 586-469-5115 or email us at [email protected]

🐾 10 ADOPTIONS THIS WEEK! 🐾

Nothing makes us happier than watching our shelter friends walk out the door with their new families. ❤️ Ten pets started their next chapter this week, and we are so thankful to every adopter who chose MCAC!

We packed a lot into the week, too! Our Martha’s Mutts crew stopped by to visit residents at Martha T. Berry for their Dog Days of Summer celebration and had a blast, and then we headed out to The Notary Stop & Next Level Realty yesterday for a fun adoption event!

Now we’re officially counting down to WOOFSTOCK and cannot wait for all the fun ahead. ✌️🐶🎶

🚐💨 ROAD TRIP!!! NEXT STOP: NEW BALTIMORE! 🐾❤️

Tomorrow, Saturday, August 29th, some of our MCAC crew is packing up and heading to The Notary Stop & Next Level Realty from 10 AM–2 PM, and we have ONE goal:

Come back with fewer dogs than we left with!! 😃

Who’s riding with us?

🐾 Spike & Butch — Our adorable bonded Chihuahuas! These little guys are a package deal and must be adopted together. Two tiny best friends looking for one forever home. ❤️

👑 Prince — Because obviously every road trip needs a little royalty!

🐾 Dexter, Capris & Kit — Our long-term residents who have been waiting WAY too long for someone to finally say, “Yep. That’s my dog.” 🥹❤️

And the best part? Fill out an application online or in person tomorrow, and approved adopters can take their new family member HOME directly from the event! 🎉

⚠️ If you already have a dog at home, we do require a dog-to-dog introduction before your application can be approved and a dog can go home with you.

Meet June, 3 💕
German Shepherd • 56 lbs • Still somehow single, and honestly it’s getting ridiculous.

June has zero applications, and we would just like to know…are people okay? Because this girl is the total package.

She’s smart, beautiful, loves other dogs, loves to be pet, and walks nicely on a leash. June would love a home with a yard and someone who will include her in their everyday life. She’s not looking to spend every day on the couch, but she also doesn’t need you training for a marathon. 😂

Her perfect match would include:

🐾 Walks and outdoor time
🏡 A yard to run and play in
🐶 Other dog friends
❤️ Plenty of pets and attention
🚗 Car rides and little adventures
🏊 Bonus points for pool access
🍽️ Nice dinners and snacks, obviously

She’s not bougie…she just has standards. 😂

June is looking for a home where she can be part of the fun — walks, yard time, outings, hanging with her people and whatever else the day brings. She’d love someone who wants a dog to actually do life with, but she’s perfectly happy to relax and soak up some attention after a good day too.

A house with a good-sized yard is definitely on her wish list, and if you happen to have a pool…well, June says that’s certainly not a dealbreaker. 😂

So again…how is she still single?

It’s time for somebody to finally swipe right on June. ❤️

We have 12 adoptions to celebrate this week! Thank you to everyone who adopted, shared our posts, tagged a friend or helped our pets get seen. Happy tails, friends! 🩷

We’re also excited to hit the road this Saturday, August 29, for an adoption event hosted by The Notary Stop and Next Level Realty 35443 23 Mile Rd in New Baltimore from 10 AM–2 PM. Adoptions, vendors, snacks and family fun! Stay tuned later this week when we announce which of our adoptable friends will be joining us! 🐶

We seriously cannot wait for this one!

Woofstock is shaping up to be such a fun day, and we are so thankful for the incredible support behind it. A huge shoutout to our friends at Anchor Bay Chamber of Commerce and Pet Supplies Plus - Clinton Twp, MI for their sponsorship and helping us bring this event to life!

September 19 is going to be packed with MCAC’s adoptable pets, live music, vendors, food, contests, giveaways and so much more. We hope you’ll come spend the afternoon with us and help celebrate the animals and community we love so much.

Good morning from the MCAC Penthouse!

We have two new residents up front and, well… these boys are hard to miss! ❤️

Meet Skeeter, a 1-year-old dashing Dachshund mix, and Fraggle, a 10-month-old stunning Shih Tzu mix (fresh from the groomer who removed some heavy matting)

These two are complete showstoppers and already have the front lobby looking a little more fabulous. 🤩

They’re currently keeping watch at the window, waiting for their people to walk through the door and realize, “Yep. That’s my dog.”

If your weekend plans include falling in love, Skeeter and Fraggle would be happy to help with that. 😉
