We were up early this morning getting ready to put flags out around Clifton. Happy Flag Day you all.

Please join us for our Memorial Day Ceremony at the Clifton Cemetery. After the ceremony there will be a free hamburger meal for the community at the American Legion Dining Hall. Please note that some of the flyers that were distributed around town show the the meal is for veterans. This was a typo. As in the past, the meal is for all that want to participate.

VFW Post member Tom Nichols and wife Anita volunteered at the Clifton Food bank during the Food for Familys event. Thanks Tom and Anita.

I stopped by the Clifton Food Bank a day early to drop off some canned goods on behalf of VFW Post 8553, and look who was there volunteering. The Clifton Middle School National Junior Honor Society. Good job kids. Keep it up.

Please consider donating either canned foods or money tomorrow during the Food for Families event at our Clifton Food Bank.

A big Thank You to the Clifton ISD Elementry 4th graders and High School students for honoring us veterans today. There were several VFW Post 8553 members in attendance. Both events were very patriotic and we loved every minute of it.

Today is Flag Day. That is why you are seeing street flags posted by your local VFW Post.

It is also the 250th Birthday of the U.S. Army.
