The Democracy Collaborative Fellow Prof. Howard Reed was one of the speakers at the launch event for the UK Index of Systemic Trends at Northumbria University, Newcastle, on June 5.

This is the speech he delivered, highlighting how there has been a significant decline in Britain's economic growth since the 1970s. Yet, there's a complete detachment from the political class to the issues and the concerns of the average person.
