06/29/2025

Cooperative Cleveland was founded in November 2017 to uplift home-based, minority-owned businesses operating with sustainable, eco-friendly, and justice-driven values.

Today, it is evolving into a 21st-century cooperative ecosystem, a living network of creators, organizers, entrepreneurs, and visionaries working together to build a just, regenerative economy from the ground up.

Cooperation isn’t just about sharing resources.

It’s about reclaiming power, building resilience, honoring Mother Earth, and ensuring our communities are not left behind.

We believe in cooperative economics that reflect the realities of Black, Brown, and marginalized entrepreneurs, especially those historically excluded from mainstream capital, markets, and opportunity.

Rooted in Cleveland’s legacy of environmental justice and inspired by the bold work of Congressman Louis Stokes and Mayor Carl Stokes, Cooperative Cleveland connects sustainability, equity, and entrepreneurship to reshape how we live, work, and thrive… together.

This is what real cooperative work looks like.

This is Cooperative Cleveland.
