Everyone is always excited for Tuesday bingo…it simply never gets old! We keep things interesting by playing different versions, including food bingo, sea life bingo, zoo bingo, birthday bingo, and bingo for every holiday. Changing it up keeps the activity fun and exciting while encouraging learning, listening, concentration, and social interaction. Tuesdays are always better with bingo! 😊

Today, our participants and staff had a blast racing slot cars together! It may seem like a simple activity, but it actually encourages hand eye coordination, fine motor control, focus, patience, turn taking, following directions, friendly competition, communication, and social interaction. We believe learning can, and should, be fun. We’re proud of our staff for always being resourceful and finding creative ways to keep everyone engaged, connected, and learning together. Sometimes, the simplest activities make for the best days!

We don’t usually post on Saturdays, but we couldn’t let these great pictures go unseen!
This past week was extra busy as we prepared for our art sale and celebrated a special birthday, so quite a few wonderful moments didn’t get posted. Some of our participants have even been asking about the pictures they sent in! 😂 We just love that our participants, their families, friends, and members of our community follow our page and enjoy seeing what we’ve been up to. We’re so grateful for each and every one of you! So here it is…our Saturday photo drop! Just a little look back at all the fun, friendship, and special memories from our week. ❤️

Happy Birthday to Ashley, the self-proclaimed #1 McDonald’s fan! Of course, there was no better place to celebrate her special day than her favorite place…McDonald’s! Ashley waits for this day all year long, and we are so grateful to celebrate it with her each year. She has such a giving heart and would give you the shirt off her back. She loves celebrating everyone else and always makes them feel special, so today was all about celebrating her!Happy Birthday, Ashley! We hope your day was filled with happiness, laughter, wonderful friends, and plenty of McDonald’s fries! 🍟🍔

Unfortunately, today’s art sale has been canceled due to the weather. 🌧️

The event will be rescheduled for sometime in September, and we will share the new date as soon as it is confirmed.

In the meantime, our beautiful artwork is still available for purchase online! All proceeds will help fund our upcoming Halloween and Christmas parties. Thank you for supporting our talented participants!

Here is a sneak peek at some of the beautiful artwork that will be featured at our sale today at The View between 6:00pm-8:30pm.

Our participants have been working hard for approximately six weeks to create these one of a kind pieces, and they are so excited to share their creativity with the community. Every purchase will help us raise funds for our upcoming Halloween and Christmas celebrations.

Tomorrow, Thursday, August 27, Nurturing Spirit will be at The View at from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Our participants have been working hard and putting their creativity and hearts into every piece. They are excited to share their beautiful artwork with the community! 100% of the proceeds will help fund our upcoming Halloween and Christmas parties. Perfectly said! I couldn’t agree more! People often tell me, “You must have a lot of patience to do that job.” The truth is, yes, this work does require patience…but the people we support are rarely the reason why. The patience is needed for the paperwork, deadlines, audits, workplace dynamics, and coordinating with families and service systems. Those are often the most challenging parts of the job. The individuals we support are the heart of what we do. Spending time with them, helping them, celebrating their progress, and sharing everyday moments together are the best parts…not something we simply “put up with.” They don’t test our patience. They remind us why the rest of it is worth it.
