Lincoln Park South Lake Alliance - LPSLA

LPSLA addresses community needs, establish plans to execute programs & projects around those needs and work in collaboration to bring to fruition.

Our Mission: Building community through creativity, collaboration, and access to life changing opportunities in South Lake County. The Lincoln Park South Lake Alliance (LPSLA) was established as a 501(c)(3) in July 2020 to formalize the efforts started by community members who formed the Lincoln Park Impact Committee. The Alliance will comprise of committees and projects with the first project being a Community Center for the Lincoln Park community. The Lincoln Park South Lake Alliance is an advocacy group who provides outreach to find out community needs, establish plans, and collaborate to execute programs and projects that fulfill the needs of the community. and South Lake County. The Lincoln Park Impact Committee was formed shortly after community pastors, leaders, and citizens who attended the historical Lincoln Park School, now known as Clermont Elementary, were informed that the school would be closed in 2023. Clermont Elementary will be closing in 2023 when the Lake County School Board builds the new Aurelia M. Cole Academy K-8 School. This is now a subcommittee under the Alliance that will focus on preserving Clermont Elementary as a historical building. The goal is for the building to remain in the community and function as a Community Center for Education, the Arts and Sports. The Center would provide Educational Programs, Employment Training/Entrepreneurship, the Arts, and Recreation. The Impact Committee members and supporters believe South Lake is in need of a facility where everyone can come together to build community, close education gaps, provide employment training and leadership skills, collaborate, create, and interact through the arts and recreation activities. Congratulations Lake Technical College South!
7 years, 6 months and 24 days, and a portion of our vision is HERE!

Yesterday, August 14th, was truly a GREAT day as we celebrated the Grand Opening of Lake Technical College South! What an incredible milestone for South Lake County and, most importantly, for the students whose lives will be transformed for generations to come.

We are so excited about the opportunities Lake Tech College South will bring to students, transforming lives, opening doors, and equipping students with the skills and knowledge they need to build brighter futures.

A very special THANK YOU to DeAnna Thomas and everyone who worked tirelessly alongside her to make this vision a reality. Your dedication, determination, and commitment have made a tremendous difference.

Thank you, Dr. Diane Culpepper, for believing in this vision years ago.

Thank you to the Lake Technical College staff and administrators, Diane Kornegay and the Lake County School Board, and all of our governmental officials who supported this project through advocacy, funding, and recognizing that this is something South Lake County needs.

And to Alex Busto of GatorSktch and the Scorpio team, THANK YOU! Your contributions helped bring this vision to life.

To our Lincoln Park South Lake Alliance family, the journey may have seemed long, but God's timing is always perfect. What began as a small vision has grown into something much greater than we could have imagined.

This has been a long time coming, and the August 14th Grand Opening was not just a great success — it was a glimpse of the BEST that is yet to come!

Thank you to everyone who believed in that small vision we had years ago. Your belief, support, and partnership helped bring this great vision to fruition.

Lake Technical College South is here and the future is bright and available!

Congratulations to everyone who played a part in making this historic day possible! Thank you for sharing this day with us.

The vision continues. The work continues. And, the Best is yet to come!
