November Community Meeting - Join us Thursday, November 5, at 7 PM for a fascinating presentation by Nathan Nunez, a descendant of the Xaapchivitam Clan of the Eastern San Gabriel Mountains and a leader in tribal heritage, outdoor education, and conservation. Nathan will explore how our connections to the land shape our understanding of the natural world and our responsibility to protect it. Through tribally led outdoor education and partnerships in stewardship, habitat restoration, and watershed conservation, Nathan is helping safeguard the San Gabriel Mountains and San Gabriel River watershed for future generations.

📍 Location: Hughes Community Center, Claremont, CA

Come discover how cultural heritage and conservation come together to inspire a deeper connection to the land!

Kris Janicki led our Bonelli Bird Outing today which was capped by gorgeous views of a Merlin on an exposed perch, feeding on prey it had recently caught. Thanks, Kris! Our next Bonelli Bird Outing is Sunday, November, 22. Look for details on our website, pomonavalleybirdalliance.org.

Saturday, Oct. 24 was a beautiful day with no rain and lots of happy families visiting our booth at the Halloween Nature Crawl hosted by the San Dimas Canyon Nature Center and held at San Dimas Canyon Regional Park. The Wonderful World of Owls was the theme of our educational outreach, interactive activities, demonstrations and Halloween treats.🦉 Seeing the kids (and adults) in costume is always a big part of the fun and there were a couple children dressed as owls! Many thanks to our volunteers, Brenda, Ravi, Laura, Chris, Isabella, Audrey, Michael and Tina. Our next outreach event is Fall in the Farm at the Fairplex on Nov. 21st. email [email protected] if you'd like to join in the fun! 🐷🐮🐔
