Rain was never going to stop altafiber. Last Friday, more than 100 of their team members fanned out across Cincinnati's West End for their annual Day in the Community, one of our largest neighborhood activation events of the year. They tackled projects at more than ten different project sites, picking up litter, spreading mulch, clearing overgrowth, and even building raised garden beds for a community garden. The rain fell steadily and hard at times, and they just pulled on their ponchos and kept going.

Thank you, altafiber, for your commitment and service to Cincinnati. We're proud to partner with you year after year and can't wait to see what we do together next time.

We're still buzzing. 🎉

On September 18, more than 250 friends, neighbors, and supporters came together for Keep Cincinnati Beautiful's annual fundraiser, and we did it all for the first time in our new home: the historic Harry Hake building in Walnut Hills!

We danced to Catalina W**e Mixer Band, played games, snacked our way through bites from local eateries, and got very competitive over the silent and live auction items. Molly Wellmann brought the Palazzo Davanzati to life with the VIP experience. .

Huge thanks to everyone who came and to the sponsors who made it all possible. Our first night in the new building couldn't have gone better, and we're still buzzing. Check out the photos, and tell us: do it again next year?

Welcome to the newest Roots to Boots cohort, a paid workforce development program from offering hands-on experience and career pathways in horticulture, landscaping, and greenspace management.

Over the next 12 weeks, this crew will learn in the field, earn chainsaw, safety and stop the bleed certifications, and meet professionals working in the industry. This will be the first cohort to be fully based out of our new office in Walnut Hills.

Welcome, team! We're so glad you're here. 💚

Interested in hosting our cohort for a professional development session, or want to support the program? Reach out to Caroline Cain, Roots to Boots Manager, at [email protected] for more information.

This program was funded in part by grants from the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile, Jr. Foundation, the Charles H. Dater Foundation, Community Forestry Corps, the H.B., E.W. & F.R. Luther Charitable Foundation, Fifth Third Bank, N.A., Trustee, and the Seeds of Change Green Workforce Development Grant (City of Cincinnati Office of Environment & Sustainability).

A big thank you to The Gorilla Glue Company for spending their Community Day volunteering with us!

Their team spent the day at our new home in the historic Harry Hake building in Walnut Hills, clearing garbage, weeding and landscaping, moving furniture, and helping get our new space organized and more functional.

Days like this remind us how much a community can accomplish when people show up and pitch in. Thank you, Gorilla Glue, for your time and hard work!
