Community Earth Alliance

Community Earth Alliance These programs are organized around three key principles:
1. An eco-centric view of the earth, reflected in the principles of deep ecology.
2.

The specific objectives and purposes of Community Earth Alliance shall be: providing earth-centered education programs to people where they spend their time in neighborhoods, workplaces, homes, schools and centers of faith. The practice of simplicity to enrich life and reduce personal impact on the earth.
3. A dedication to knowing and protecting the unique places where you live. Out reach tools w

ill include a series of discussion courses. Other outreach tools may include lectures, conferences, written materials, workshops, and other events. Community Earth Alliance will collaborate with other organizations with a kindred purpose whenever possible to fulfill its mission. At this time the carbon footprint we are leaving on the planet is literally destroying the Earth’s ability to sustain us. One of the largest carbon footprint is our housing. We need to learn how to reduce this carbon footprint. For this reason Community Earth Alliance is focusing much of its energy on educating people on ways to reduce their housing carbon footprint. This will be done within the eco-village neighborhood. To this end we have purchased houses, using the ecological rehab we do as an educational tool. Our belief is that most people learn best by seeing and doing. The houses, once we have completed them, are going up for sale. The people who move in will automatically have a smaller carbon footprint.

The Climate Crises is here. It is going to get even worse and will affect all of us. As Katie O'Reilly in Sierra Magazine says, "the best support system for a crisis in your community is community itself." Learn about setting up a community around you in my book, "Creating an Urban Ecovillage, a Model for Revitalizing our Cities."

Ordinary people don‘t write laws or regulations. Neither does Congress or federal agencies. In the United States laws and regulations are written by the corporations who have already bought sufficient legislators that your interests will nearly always come second. Your message left on your representative‘s voicemail can’t compete with the millions she or he needs for their next campaign, which industry is happy to provide. There are exceptions. But not enough to keep us safe.

"As stewards of these lands, we who live here are faced with the greatest of opportunities to resurrect our soils, clean up waterways, and most of all maintain an agrarian culture comprised of souls, and animal and plant life, with a future possibility of healthy mutual cohabitation using age-old but newly re-birthed farming techniques."

"How is it that a technologically advanced society could choose to destroy itself by failing to act to avert a climate catastrophe?"

Why does civil society accept a system that condemns today’s children life on a hostile planet? And what can we do about it?
