AlNayzak is an independent educational and scientific organization founded in Jerusalem in 2003. It is a non-profit, non-partisan organization specializing in education, mentoring and research in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and other educational and applied sciences and Vocational and Technical Training (TVET). AlNayzak serves all sectors within the loca
l society. In its programs, AlNayzak employs unique and innovative approaches that help stimulate learning and build competencies towards a participatory and hands-on educational journey. These approaches encourage active learning, and reflective practice in the production of knowledge. AlNayzak promotes and integrates innovation and creativity as authentic societal values. AlNayzak approaches academic and vocational learning through building modern scientific, intellectual, and technological skills. Its goal is to turn critical and design thinking as well as scientific methodologies into built in habits that are practiced daily by individuals, and thus contributing to the building of a productive, leading and inclusive social network. AlNayzak adopts an inclusive and balanced education accessible to all types of learners and meets their individual need as a key factor in building innovative approaches within the local context. Its activities are built on three major pillars: Science and Society, Innovation in Education and Innovative Economy. These programs are offered through its extensive network of centers and partners across the Palestinian territory to more than 32 thousand beneficiaries annually. AlNayzak creates space for innovation through its branches in six Palestinian cities along with tens of innovation laboratories installed in community-based organizations CBO’s, civil society institutions and partner schools. In addition to its science museum "Sa’adeh Science and Technology House” independently inaugurated in 2013 in the old city of Birzeit. The Organization has received numerous local and international awards. These awards include “Takreem” Award in 2017, received in Cairo from the Secretary-General of the Arab League, the “Arab Thought” Award- Dubai in the year 2013. AlNayzak also won the Palestine International Award for Excellence and Creativity and the Welfare Association’s “Abdul Aziz Al Shakhsheer Award for Achievement”. AlNayzak is an active member of global networks specializing in science and technology, including ECSITE- the European Network of Science Centers and Museums, ASTC- The American Association of Science and Technology Centers and NAMES- the North Africa and Middle East Science Centers Network. النيزك مؤسسة علمية تربوية تأسست في القدس عام 2003 م، وهي جمعية غير ربحية وغير فئوية أو حزبية متخصصة في التعليم والإرشاد والبحث في مجالات العلوم الطبيعية والتكنولوجيا والهندسة والرياضيات (STEM)، وغيرها من العلوم التربوية والتطبيقية، والتدريب المهني والتقني (TVET) وتوجيهها جميعاً نحو الريادة والابتكار.
تخدم النيزك كافة قطاعات المجتمع وتعتمد وسائل فريدة ومبتكرة تحفّز المسيرة التعليمية وبناء الكفايات على التعلّم التشاركي والتفاعلي والتأملي، بهدف الخوض في إنتاج المعرفة بطريقة شيّقة تعزز الابتكار والإبداع كقيم مجتمعية أصيلة.
تدمج النيزك المهارات العلمية والفكرية والتكنولوجية الحديثة في مسيرة التعلّم الأكاديمية والمهنية، لتغدو منهجية التفكير النقدي والعلمي عادة تمارس في الحياة اليومية وتُسهم بذلك في بناء نسيج مجتمعي منتج وقيادي متكامل.
ترتكز مؤسسة النيزك في عملها على مبدأ التعليم المتوازن والشامل ليصبح متاحاً لكل متعلم بصفاته/ها واحتياجاته/ها الفردية، كما وتنفذ كافة نشاطاتها ضمن ثلاثة محاور وبرامج رئيسة وهي: العلوم والمجتمع، الإبداع في التعليم، والاقتصاد الإبداعي، وتقدّم النيزك برامجها للمجتمع من خلال شبكة مراكزها وشركائها المنتشرة في كافة أرجاء الأرض الفلسطينية لتصل سنوياً إلى أكثر من 32 ألف مستفيد/ة.
توفر النيزك مساحات للإبداع عبر فروعها في ستة مدن فلسطينية وعشرات المختبرات للإبداع العلمي التي قامت بإنشائها في مؤسسات المجتمع المدني والمؤسسات القاعدية والمدارس المهتمة على مدار السنوات، بالإضافة إلى متحف العلوم "بيت سعادة للعلوم والتكنولوجيا" الذي افتتحته النيزك بمبادرتها الذاتية في العام 2013م في بلدة بيرزيت.
حصلت المؤسسة على جوائز محلية وعالمية عديدة خلال مسيرتها في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة، ومنها على صعيد العالم العربي جائزة "تكريم" في العام 2017م، واستلمتها النيزك في القاهرة من أمين عام الجامعة العربية، وجائزة "الفكر العربي -دبي" في العام 2014. أما على الصعيد المحلي، فقد فازت النيزك بجائزة فلسطين الدولية للتميز والإبداع وجائزة مؤسسة التعاون "عبد العزيز الشخشير للإنجاز". كما أن النيزك عضواً فاعلاً في شبكات عالمية متخصصة في العلوم والتكنولوجيا منها رابطة المراكز والمتاحف العلمية الأوروبية ECSITE ورابطة مراكز العلوم والتكنولوجيا الأمريكية ASTC وشبكة المراكز العلمية في شمال أفريقيا والشرق الأوسط NAMES.
