We partner with several shelters in our area to help spay/neuter and vaccinate the pets in their care. So obviously, we want those pets to get adopted and go to their new loving homes! Today we'd like to share this sweet girl named Nami from Regional Center for Animal Care & Protection! She's ready and waiting for her new home. 🐱 FERAL CAT SPAY/NEUTER DATES ARE HERE! 🐱

Mountain View Humane will be accepting 15 feral/community cats on EACH of the following dates:

📅 Monday, August 31
📅 Monday, September 21
📅 Monday, September 28

First come, first served!
There is NO LIMIT to the number of feral cats each individual can bring, but we only have room for 15 cats total on each date.

Thanks to a generous grant from Alley Cat Rescue Inc. the following services are currently 100% covered:

✔️ Spay/neuter surgery
✔️ Rabies vaccine
✔️ Ear-tip
✔️ 72-hour pain medication

Please note: Funding is limited. If grant funding runs out before one of these dates, all services will remain covered except the rabies vaccine, which will be $15.

🛻 Trappers: Please bring your feral cats to the back door as usual between 8:30–9:00 a.m.

Help us keep our community cats healthy and prevent homeless litters of kittens!

Happy National Dog Day!

Today is all about celebrating the dogs who make our lives happier, sillier, messier, and SO much better.

From the couch potatoes to the adventure buddies… the lap dogs to the big dogs who are convinced they're lap dogs… every dog deserves a chance to live a long, healthy, happy life. 🐾

And that starts with good preventive care!

Mountain View Humane offers affordable spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, microchipping, heartworm testing and prevention, flea & tick prevention, deworming, and more to help families keep their dogs healthy.

So today, give your dog an extra treat. Take the long walk. Scratch that favorite spot behind their ears. And then give them a big hug for being the very good dog they are.

Sometimes we refer to Tuesdays as Tabby Tuesdays because it has a nice ring to it, but mostly because we love our striped, spotted, swirled, and absolutely purrfect members of our families!

Tabbies come in all shapes, sizes, personalities, and patterns—but one thing they have in common? They deserve the same love, care, and healthy start as every other cat.

Today is Take Your Cat to the Vet Day! Cats are good at hiding their ailments, so that makes it even more important that they have regular vet visits. Don't forget - we offer a variety of low-cost preventives, including heartworm preventive!

On and in continuation of National Immunization Awareness Month, we’d like to remind animal owners to protect against mosquito-borne illnesses, such as heartworm disease, West Nile Virus, and others, by keeping their animals up to date on vaccinations and using preventative medications.

It's easy to give back using Kroger Community Rewards! All you have to do is your normal grocery shopping! Kroger Community Rewards makes fundraising easy. Once you’ve registered your Kroger Plus Card and designated Mountain View Humane as your charity, all you have to do is shop at Kroger and swipe your Plus Card and we’ll earn money to fight animal homelessness! Today is Check the Chip day...a day to make sure your pet's microchip info is up to date! Did you know that "according to a study by Petfinder, only 2% of lost cats who enter the shelter make their way back home but for kitties who were microchipped, that number jumped to 38%!" Even indoor cats should be microchipped in case they ever decide to make a dash out your door, and believe us - it happens more than you might think! And dogs shouldn't be left out either!
