For more than 15 years, Penny has been a trusted resource for clients, coworkers, contractors, and community partners throughout Virginia's New River Valley. Known affectionately as "Ms. Penny," she brings professionalism, compassion, and unwavering dedication to everything she does. Whether assisting a family in need, supporting staff, or ensuring programs operate smoothly behind the scenes, Penny's commitment to service embodies the values of this prestigious award.

The John Langford Memorial Award recognizes Weatherization Assistance Program professionals who demonstrate exceptional work ethic, generosity, respect for others, and a passion for helping others. Penny exemplifies all of these qualities every day.

We had such a great time connecting with residents at East End Mobile Home Park in Manassas, VA! 💚
Our team partnered with Creating Foundations for Hope (CFH) to host an outreach event. We’re excited to share that 15 families signed up for the Weatherization Assistance Program! 🎉
Big thanks to CFH for being such a great partner and helping make this event possible! 🤝
We’re looking forward to more opportunities to serve communities like this throughout Virginia.

Happy Earth Day!

At CHP Energy Solutions, we strive every day to make homes more energy efficient and more comfortable through our no-cost programs. In doing this, we are having a positive impact on our planet and our communities. In 2025, we saved 2,000,000 kilowatt hours across 4,600 homes. That’s equivalent to taking 313 gasoline-powered passenger vehicles off the road!

Today, let’s take time to reflect on the small ways we can act in our homes, for our planet through energy efficiency. One home at a time, we can make a difference.

🌍 Making Housing Poverty Visible Through Building Science

We’re proud to celebrate an incredible honor for our partners at Weatherizers Without Borders (WWB), who are hosting an interactive exhibit at the MIT Museum, in collaboration with MIT D‑Lab.

Led by Nick Maggio (WWB) and Anthony Cox (CHP Energy Solutions), the exhibit shines a powerful light on what housing and energy poverty truly mean and how building science can help us measure, understand, and reduce it.

Visitors will experience firsthand how substandard housing contributes to increased carbon emissions and diminished health, safety, and quality of life. Using a full suite of building science diagnostic tools, the exhibit makes the invisible visible, demonstrating how whole‑home performance connects housing poverty, energy burden, and climate impacts for nearly one‑third of the world’s population.

👏 Congratulations to WWB, MIT D‑Lab, and everyone involved in bringing this critical work to life.
