Time flies so fast!

Can you believe it’s already September 21? The “Ber Months” are officially here! 🎄💙 Before we know it, the holidays will be here, bringing with them celebrations, gatherings, and plenty of reasons to share something sweet. 🍰

As we welcome this season of gratitude and giving, we’d also like to flex one of our amazing sponsors and friends, Elis Cheesecake! 💙🍰

We’re truly grateful for businesses like Elis Cheesecake that believe in supporting the community and being part of something bigger. Your support helps us continue our work and create meaningful impact.

And of course, while we’re giving them some love, you should give their cheesecakes a try, too! 😋

Whether you’re looking for a sweet treat for yourself, something to bring to a family gathering, or a delicious addition to your upcoming holiday celebrations, Elis Cheesecake is definitely one to check out! 🍰🎉

So this Ber Month season, let’s support businesses that support the community. Good cheesecake + good people + a good cause? That’s a combination we can get behind! 💙

👏 Show some love and support for Elis Cheesecake!

Friday Throwback!

Let’s throw it back to one of those beautiful moments we’ll always be grateful for the Don Sadofsky Student Showcase. 💙

There’s something special about watching students step forward, share their talents, and see their hard work come to life.

The smiles.
The excitement.
The proud moments.
And, of course, the incredible talent on display.

Events like this remind us why creating opportunities for students matters. It’s not just about the showcase, it’s about confidence, creativity, growth, and giving young people a chance to shine.

Today, we’re looking back with grateful hearts and celebrating everyone who helped make this event so memorable. 🙌

Let’s keep creating more moments like these.

👉 Follow the Mr. Don Sadofsky Foundation and join us as we continue supporting students, celebrating their achievements, and building opportunities for the future.

On this Labor Day, we honor James C. Petrillo, Chicago-born son of a sewer cleaner who rose to lead the American Federation of Musicians for 18 years, fighting fiercely for fair wages and job security for working musicians nationwide. His legacy lives on through the Music Performance Trust Fund, which still supports public music programs today.

What does Labor Day mean to you? Share a musician, teacher, or advocate who has helped make a difference in your community.

Happy Labor Day from the Mr. Don Sadofsky Foundation for Music Education. 🎵

I recently had the honor of presenting a joint proclamation with Senator Ram Villivalam to Don Sadofsky. Don taught music in Chicago Park District fieldhouses for more than four decades, and now the Mr. Don Sadofsky Foundation for Music Education is launching tuition-free music education at parks in our community. I was lucky to have a great music education growing up, and I support initiatives making arts education more accessible and affordable for all.
