The Automotive Maintenance Merit Badge Clinic is just around the corner!
Saturday, October 17

One of our most popular merit badge clinics is returning this fall in partnership with the Illinois Tollway! Scouts will once again have the opportunity to get hands-on experience learning about automotive maintenance and work toward completing requirements for the Automotive Maintenance Merit Badge.

Whether your Scout is already interested in cars or just looking to learn some practical skills, this is a great opportunity to get hands-on and learn from the experts.

This is a highly popular clinic and spots are expected to fill quickly, so don't wait to sign up!

The legend came to life at this year’s Bigfoot Bash Cuboree!

This past weekend, 400 Scouts, family, friends, and volunteers gathered at Camp Betz for a weekend packed with adventure and plenty of mysterious creatures. Throughout the weekend, participants hit the trails for a cryptid hike, searched for prehistoric treasures during a fossil hunt, took on the giant light wall, explored the Mothman Craft Cave to create their own cryptid-inspired masks and headbands.

The weekend also featured a lively Midway, with activities and support from Faith Relations, Special Needs in Scouting, and community organizations like Brice from the K-9 Search Team, Michigan State Police, and Berrien Springs Fire & Rescue.

And, of course, no Bigfoot Bash would be complete without gathering around the firebowl and ending the night with a celebration worthy of the legendary creature himself.

A special thank you goes to the many volunteers from across the council who helped bring the weekend together, including the Betz Family Camp team, Takhone Lodge, and Owasippe camp staff, and especially our dedicated kitchen staff who kept everyone fueled throughout the weekend.

Thank you to everyone who came out, volunteered, participated, and helped make the Bigfoot Bash Cuboree a weekend to remember!
