Gamma Kappa Chapter of the Theta Xi Fraternity at the University of Illinois at Chicago

The Purpose of Theta Xi is to provide a college home environment for its active
members in which fellowship and alumni guidance lead to wholesome mental, moral, physical, and spiritual growth. To that end Theta Xi actively supports and augments college and community efforts to make individual members more mature and chapter groups more useful units of society. Through its alumni and undergraduate

leadership Theta Xi endeavors to assist each member to develop ONE, Intellectual curiosity that assures the highest scholarship rating consistent with his ability; TWO, habits that lead to better mental and physical health; THREE, sincerity in his association with others and confidence in himself; FOUR, responsibility to chapter, college, community, and country; FIVE, leadership that comes from practicing the principles of democratic selfgovernment; SIX, interests and activities outside regular scholastic studies that employ spare time to advantage; SEVEN, spiritual understanding that provides a reservoir of strength to draw upon when faced with conditions beyond .

Today we celebrate Father Patrick Marshall’s 25+ years of service to the UIC community and Founder’s day, 154th anniversary of our fraternity’s establishment! Father Patrick will be embarking on a 6 month sabbatical in Rome and then will await a new assignment within the Archidiocese of Chicago. Our chapter has been honored to have Father Patrick as our faculty chapter advisor for over 20 years. He helped guide the men of our chapter through the obstacles and trials of life during and beyond their years at UIC. He has integral part of our chapter and without him, our bonds and brotherhood would not be the same. Our chapter extends its thanks to all brothers and alumni for coming out to celebrate! The St. John Paul II Newman Center will be hosting another celebration for Father Patrick May 3rd at 5PM. Happy Founder’s Day!

Our brother Joshua-Paul Ajayi has found some free time from studying for Pharmacy school to become a Chemistry Tutor at UIC! Joshua graduated high school from the Illinois Math and Science Academy, the best College Preparatory High School in the Nation and has been on the Dean's List every semester at UIC. Joshua has boosted many of our Brother's GPAs. Contact him if you are in need of help this semester!
