Thank you to everyone who attended our Annual Meeting last night! What a wonderful evening to connect, celebrate, and learn. We'd like to take a moment to highlight recipients of our annual Volunteer Awards, presented last night to those who were present.

These volunteers come from different programs within the organization and share their time, treasure, and talent to advance our mission forward. They prove that there's no one right way to be involved or make an impact- just your way! Thank you to these all-star volunteers! 💙

It's another Youth Ambassador Spotlight! 🌟

Marie shared her diagnosis story and some lessons learned during the D**k for Diabetes Pickleball tournament. Diagnosed with T1D while away on a family vacation, she shared that "A big part of my life has always been basketball; I’m rarely home and almost always out with friends. At that moment, T1D felt like it would force me to put everything on hold and take over my life. What I’ve learned since then is that type 1 diabetes does not define who I am. It is a part of me, but it doesn’t control me—and I wouldn’t change that."

Marie became a YA to share her story "so that other young men and women never feel alone in their diagnosis. I want to use my challenges—the sleepless nights, insulin shots, and the adjustments to a new way of life—to help others truly understand what it means to live with T1D."
