At CommunityHealth, we understand the tremendous needs of the uninsured population in Chicago– a population that continues to grow in today’s economic climate. Thanks to an innovative and highly effective model supported by volunteerism, philanthropy and partnerships, CommunityHealth will provide 30,000 medical and dental visits at our West Town location this year for over 9,000 patients. physicians, nurses, dentists, counselors, donors (individuals, foundations, corporations, etc.) and various institutional (e.g. hospitals, medical schools, universities/graduate programs) and community partners recognize the critical role that CommunityHealth is playing in the health of those in our society who would otherwise go without care they need. While primary care is the cornerstone of our mission, CommunityHealth is a full service, appointment-based medical home providing more than 20 specialty services (from cardiology to ultrasound), health education, case management and social work (available both on-site and through formal referral partners). All exams, labs and medications (through our on-site MedAccess Chicago pharmacy) are at no cost to the patient. Find us on Twitter () and LinkedIn (CommunityHealth)!

Thank you Illinois Association of Free and Charitable Clinics for this celebratory announcement. We're thrilled to be expanding in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood to better serve our community!

With upcoming Medicaid changes expected to leave more Illinoisans without coverage, IAFCC member clinic CommunityHealth is expanding its presence in Belmont Cragin to meet the growing demand.

Their new care center will build on CommunityHealth’s existing microsite model and is expected to triple its capacity in the neighborhood while bringing care closer to where patients live.

In a recent Health News Illinois interview, CommunityHealth CEO Steph Wilding shared that the clinic has already seen increased demand and is preparing by expanding staffing, volunteer capacity, clinic hours, and community outreach.

This is a powerful reminder of the role free and charitable clinics play in the healthcare safety net: stepping in as gaps grow, helping patients stay connected to care, and supporting the broader system around them.

Thank you, CommunityHealth, for heeding the call! 💙

💉 **Vaccines aren't just for kids!**

Did you know that staying up to date on recommended vaccines can help protect you from serious illnesses at every stage of life?

From the flu and COVID-19 to shingles, pneumonia, and HPV-related cancers, vaccines help prevent diseases that can lead to serious health complications.

Here are three things to know about vaccines:

✅ **Prevention matters.** Vaccines help your immune system recognize and fight infections, reducing your risk of serious illness.

✅ **Your vaccine needs can change over time.** Age, health conditions, vaccination history, and other factors can influence which vaccines are recommended for you.

✅ **It's never too late to check.** Whether you're due for a routine vaccine or have missed one in the past, a healthcare professional can help you understand your options.

📲 **Swipe through our Vaccine Awareness Guide** to learn more about common vaccines, the illnesses they help prevent, and who may benefit from them.

At CommunityHealth, we believe everyone deserves access to preventive healthcare, regardless of their ability to pay.

💙 Talk with your healthcare provider about which vaccines are right for you.

We are thrilled to share our joyful photos from our All In Celebration last month. We are sincerely grateful to our community for coming together to celebrate and learn about all the incredible ways CommunityHealth is meeting the moment: closing gaps, opening doors.

Thank you to everyone who made this event such a success, including guests, donors, sponsors, volunteers, staff, Board members, Associate Board members.

At the event, we were thrilled to honor two community trailblazers and advocates with the Sara Villanueva Public Service Award - Senator Omar Aquino and Congresswoman Delia Ramirez. Thank you both for your steadfast support of our work and the communities we serve, particularly as we prepare for a clinic expansion in the CARES Community Center, in partnership with Onward Neighborhood House.

As we continue to close gaps and open doors to our patients and community, we are grateful you are alongside us. We look forward to seeing you at next year's Celebration!

What a night! 💜

Nearly 180 members of the CommunityHealth community came together for our 2026 All In Celebration, Meeting Every Moment: Closing Gaps, Opening Doors, on September 17th!

And together, we did something incredible: we raised more than $265,000 to support high-quality health care for our uninsured and underinsured neighbors across Chicago.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who made this possible, including our guests, donors, volunteers, staff, Board members, Associate Board members, and 13 generous corporate sponsors who showed up for CommunityHealth and the patients we serve.

Throughout the evening, we reflected on what it means to meet the moment. When someone loses insurance. When a prescription becomes unaffordable. When fear or financial barriers keep someone from seeking care.

CommunityHealth is here to respond with exceptional care, dignity, and an open door.

We also looked ahead to the next chapter of our work, including the expansion of CommunityHealth’s presence in Belmont Cragin as a partner in the new CARES Community Center.

Most of all, the evening was a reminder that meeting every moment takes all of us. Not one person. Not one organization. Not one donor. A community.

To everyone who joined us, gave, sponsored, volunteered, partnered with us, or helped make this celebration possible: thank you for being All In.

💊 Happy World Pharmacists Day!

Today, we’re celebrating the incredible pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who help make high-quality health care possible at CommunityHealth, including Aissatou and Ale, pictured here!

For people without health insurance, the cost of prescription medications can mean choosing between getting the medicine they need and paying for necessities like rent, utilities, or food. At CommunityHealth, we believe no one should have to make that choice.

Through our onsite MedAccess Chicago Pharmacy, patients receive their medications completely free of charge. Each year, our pharmacy provides more than 34,000 prescriptions.

But our pharmacists and pharmacy techs do much more than fill prescriptions. They work closely with our clinical team to make sure medications are safe and effective, provide Medication Therapy Management, and support patients managing diabetes and other chronic conditions.

On World Pharmacists Day, we’re grateful for Aissatou, Ale, and all of our pharmacy staff and volunteers who help remove barriers to medication and make healthier lives possible for our patients, including Elsa, Jennifer, Lauren and Grace!

Thank you for everything you do! 💊

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!

At CommunityHealth, we’re proud to celebrate the vibrant cultures, histories, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities — and honored to care for a patient community that reflects that incredible diversity.

Nearly three-quarters of our patients identify as Hispanic or Latino, 70% list Spanish as their primary language, and our patients represent at least 16 countries across Latin America.

Every day, our staff and volunteers work to make high-quality health care accessible, welcoming, and culturally responsive — from primary and specialty care to behavioral health, medications, health education, and more, all provided at no cost to our patients.

This Hispanic Heritage Month, we celebrate our patients, volunteers, staff, and neighbors who make our community stronger and healthier.

¡Culturas fuertes. Comunidades más saludables. Brighter tomorrows.

🌟 Meet our September Volunteer of the Month, Amir Moghtader!

Since joining CommunityHealth in December 2025, Amir has already contributed an incredible 115 hours to supporting our patients and community.

Amir was nominated for his dedication, flexibility, and willingness to step up wherever he’s needed — from filling a last-minute greeter shift to joining our Greeter Trainer Team, where he now helps welcome and prepare new volunteers. In triage, Amir brings that same commitment to patient care, treating everyone with kindness and respect and helping put anxious patients at ease.

As Volunteer Services Coordinator Sarah Maher shared, Amir is “kind, reliable, and always willing to fill in where needed most.”

💜 Thank you, Amir, for the time, compassion, and care you bring to CommunityHealth. We’re so grateful to have you on our volunteer team!

🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Holly Buckley 🌟

For Board Member Holly Buckley, the belief that everyone deserves access to quality health care is deeply personal.

Growing up in England, Holly took health care access for granted. After moving to the U.S., a frightening medical emergency opened her eyes to just how much financial concerns can shape a person’s experience of seeking care.

That experience is part of what drew Holly to CommunityHealth—and since joining our Board in 2024, she has made an incredible impact. Her fundraising efforts have generated more than $40,000 for CommunityHealth, she has helped introduce new people to our mission, and her creativity and commitment earned her our 2025 Fundraiser of the Year award.

As Holly puts it: “Participating with CommunityHealth is how I align my time with my values.”

We’re so grateful to Holly for sharing her time, talents, and passion in support of quality health care for all. 💙
