As she has had to do her whole life, Christa Pike survived against all odds. Today she is alive and talking, with significant injuries to her arms due to the two lethal injections.

Governor Bill Lee should pardon her, or at least commute her to parole eligibility. She is not the teenager who did a horrible thing, which she lives with. No one should be reduced to the worst thing they've ever done. No one should be killed by the state.

Christa Pike, a Tennessee inmate who survived Tennessee’s attempt to execute her, is conscious and speaking as she continues to receive medical care at a hospital, according to a statement from her attorneys.

Thank you, generous supporters! The fundraiser for Keshia and her daughter is now over $35,000. This is such an impactful sum in that Keshia has a lot to rebuild after 4 years of prosecution, during which she supported a daughter through invasive spinal surgery and rehabilitation.

Let's be real. Most of the reporting on criminalized survivor cases is not only terrible, it's damaging. HOWEVER, there has also been some GREAT reporting on Keshia Golden's case, and the Free Keshia Golden campaign would like to uplift that here.

JOIN US TOMORROW! Keshia Golden is scheduled for trial tomorrow, August 24th. She's been fighting for her freedom for nearly 4 years, with the threat of up to 60 years in prison looming over her the entire time. Whatever the resolution of this case, we must continue demanding dismissed charges, and pardons for those who have been convicted.

Beyond this, we must understand that the criminal legal response to gender based violence has made us less safe, have moved us farther from a world in which we entitle boys to violence, and expect girls to magically avoid it, or to feel blamed when they are harmed. No More.
