On Day 2 of the Chicago Rehab Network Empowerment Series focused on Project and Construction Management, participants were led by Angela Hurlock, CEO of Claretian Associates, on an engaging tour of three development sites on the South Side of Chicago. The group visited Thrive Exchange, Project H.O.O.D., and Sacred Apartments. These projects demonstrate the power of community-focused development, as together they will bring significant affordable housing to the South Side while also providing critical programs, services, and opportunities that support neighborhood growth and stability. Project H.O.O.D. (Helping Others Obtain Destiny) was born out of a deep commitment to transform lives and uplift communities in the heart of Chicago. Our journey began with the unwavering vision of our founder, Pastor Corey Brooks, who believed in the power of education, mentorship, and community development to break the cycle of poverty and create a brighter future.
