Citizens Utility Board See what great services we offer Land of Lincoln consumers!

Since its inception in 1984, the Citizens Utility Board has been blocking rate hikes and fighting for consumer protections and better service from the state’s investor-owned electric, gas and telephone companies. Since 1984, CUB has helped save Illinois consumers more than $10 billion by blocking rate hikes, winning refunds, cutting phone bills, and fighting for consumer protections in Springfield.

State regulatory judges have recommended cutting the Peoples Gas rate hike by over 50%. CUB says that's a good step forward, but urges regulators to make even deeper cuts in the hike. Read CUB's news release: https://buff.ly/LkQGXgY Fight the hike at CUBActionCenter.com!

CUB Staff Spotlight

Meet Cyrius Currie, CUB's Director of IT

Cyrius Currie has been part of the Citizens Utility Board since fall 2001, which makes him one of CUB's longest-serving staff members. As Director of IT, Cyrius helps run and maintain the technology CUB relies on every day, from the office copiers to the website.

Cyrius values the work his colleagues do to resolve consumers' utility issues, and he supports that mission by making sure they have the tools they need and by solving their tech problems along the way.

Outside of work, Cyrius loves being a dad to his son and spending time at family events. He also enjoys art, listening to music and going to festivals.

We're grateful to have him on the team!

Ameren Illinois customers will see a new electricity supply price - lower than the summer price, but still higher than this time last year.

CUB was in McHenry County tonight for a forum about data centers. Why are electricity prices 50% higher than just two years ago? Because of skyrocketing demand from new and proposed data centers. It's time we make Big Tech pay its fair share of energy costs. Go to CUBActionCenter.com to send a message to Springfield in favor of the POWER Act!
