The Salvation Army is made up of thousands of officers, soldiers, adherents, employees, volunteers and other individuals all working together to holistically meet the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of those less fortunate. Our organization is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division is the administrative unit which provides services to people in need in Greater Chicago, Northern Illinois and Northwestern Indiana. The Salvation Army is currently officially at work in 131 countries worldwide. It is a Christian organization and part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in his name without discrimination. Our Approach

It’s almost Red Kettle season, and The Salvation Army Chicago Temple needs volunteers to help us ring the bell and bring hope to our community this Christmas!
Whether you can give a couple of hours, a full day, or multiple shifts, every hour you volunteer helps make a difference. Bellringing is also a great opportunity for families, churches, businesses, schools, service organizations, and community groups to serve together.
