The U.S. Palestinian Community Network (USPCN) remembers Dolores Huerta, co-founder of the United Farm Workers and a lifelong labor organizer, who passed away at 96.

Huerta helped lead historic strikes and boycotts, mobilizing farmworkers, many of them immigrants, against exploitation and dangerous working conditions. Her organizing helped secure better wages, collective bargaining rights, and greater protections for agricultural workers.

We honor her contributions to the labor movement and the generations of workers who continue that struggle today.

We mourn the martyrs of the heinous terrorist attack on St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Al-Karak / Hamoud, Jordan, and extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims. We pray for a speedy recovery for the wounded.

As Palestinians – Christians and Muslims – we stand united against terrorism, extremism, and all attempts to divide our people.

This past weekend USPCN confronted Michael W. Frerichs in Des Plaines,IL to demand he divest from the $20 million of Israel Bonds set to expire on November 1st.

Although Mike Frerichs points the blame on the IL General Assembly, it is within his power to choose to allow the Israel Bonds to expire and reduce our complicity in Israel’s Genocidal campaign in Gaza, and the broader region that has also negatively impacted Illinoians.

Elinor Keener from Anti-War Committee Chicago and Nick Sous from US Palestinian Community Network join Sovereign Media to discuss the role of Israeli bonds in sustaining the occupation.

The groups have formed a statewide coalition and launched a pressure campaign that has resulted so far in $33 million divested from Israeli bonds.

On Sunday, October 25 at 3:00pm, Silk Road Cultural Center is hosting a screening of The Horse of Jenin at Ganz Hall at Roosevelt University in Chicago!

“Built from the debris of a major invasion, the Horse of Jenin sculpture became a constant presence in actor and comedian Alaa Shehada’s life growing up in Occupied Palestine. It stood proudly in the center of the city for twenty years, symbolizing hope and resistance. Then, on October 29, 2023, an Israeli bulldozer entered the city, ripping the sculpture from its place and its people. Alaa is left wondering... What happened to the horse?”

Combining storytelling, mask, and stand-up comedy, The Horse of Jenin is constructed from the fragments of Palestinian actor and comedian Alaa Shehada’s own memories and stands as an ode to the power of imagination and the resilience it brings.

In the United States, individual states can purchase bonds from foreign countries to increase their investments.

At first glance, this sounds like a sound way to increase state wealth. However, a second look reveals how bonds can increase domestic repression within the United States while fuelling apartheid and occupation elsewhere.

With the purchase of Isr*eli bonds, Isr*el can sustain its occupation while training U.S. forces on repressive strategies and tactics. Known as the “deadly exchange”, this exchange is not just arms, but training and ideology.

Billionaire & staunch zionist Michael Sacks continues to meddle in Chicago politics to push his anti-Palestinian agenda!

USPCN-Chicago discovered that the Sacks Family donated over $455K to Chicago Alderpeople who voted against the Gaza Ceasefire Resolution in January 2024.

In addition, the Sackses have poured millions into PACs to directly influence the first-ever fully-elected school board, and at least $500K into the mayor’s race!

The zionist Sackses are massive supporters of Israel, genocide apologists, supporters of a privatization agenda, and part of the neoliberal billionaire class that does not want communities of color and working people in Chicago – including Palestinians and Arabs – to thrive and succeed.
