Big shout out to Dreadhead Cowboy and everybody who helped put this event together! 🙌🏾🔥

This was a really good experience for TRUCE Chicago and especially for my son. He had the opportunity to be in a room with people from all over the city, make connections, meet positive influences, and be exposed to different opportunities.

For only $15 in advance and $25 at the door, this event brought together DJs, vendors, influencers, special guests, and people who came out to support. One thing that stood out was seeing an influencer even offer to help pay for tickets so others could attend. That says a lot about the atmosphere and the people in the room.

As a mom, I believe exposure matters. Sometimes getting our youth into different rooms, around different people, and in different environments can make all the difference. Events like this give young people the chance to see, learn, network, and experience things they may not normally be exposed to.

Thank you again to Drehead Cowboy and everyone involved for creating a great event. TRUCE Chicago was happy to be in the building, and this definitely won’t be the last room you’ll see us in. We’re just getting started. 💯❤️

A few moments from yesterday’s Unity Takeover Peace Walk. 🖤🤍

Truce Chicago was proud to come out, walk, listen, learn, and be present alongside so many community members, organizations, leaders, influencers, and people who care about making a difference in our city.

For us, it’s important to show our youth that positive spaces exist and that there are people working every day to create change.

We’re still doing the footwork, still learning, and still growing, but yesterday was a beautiful reminder that there are a lot of people throughout this city who care about our youth and our communities.

Chicago Needs a TRUCE. 🖤❤️🤍

Y’all, give my son a chance.

Anybody raising a teenage boy knows there comes a point where they start figuring out who they are and what they want to be. They don’t want to be under mama all day, and that’s okay. That’s part of growing up.

One thing I can say is that my son has taken an interest in doing something positive with his time and energy. He wanted to start Truce Chicago because he wants to see more young people his age exposed to different things and positive experiences.

Now listen, my son ain’t perfect, and I ain’t up here acting like he is. He’s just a regular kid trying to do something positive, and as his mama, I’m going to support that.

So I’m asking y’all to support him too. Follow the page, share it, tell somebody about it, and help us get the word out. Sometimes our kids just need people to believe in what they’re trying to build.

Chicago Needs a TRUCE.

Truce Chicago was created to bring positive energy back into our communities and expose our youth to experiences, activities, and environments beyond what they may see every day.

Trenches Raised Us. Peace Can Change Us.

Our goal is simple: encourage peace, inspire different perspectives, and remind our young people that there is more to life than the cycle of violence.

This is more than a page. It’s a movement to show that a different path is possible.
