There's nothing like an end of season relay race! Winners received Harry Potter Tote Bags and Scarves, donated to us by The kids loved these as well as the stash of free tickets to the magical play, we received too. Thank you & do come visit again!

Active Girls Healthy Women (AGHW) serves as a hub for researchers, community organizations, and the public to come together to share knowledge about girls’ and women’s physical activity and health.

Join us for a panel discussion to celebrate National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Wednesday, February 5th at 3:30-4:30 EST. Join us for a panel discussion about the successful strategies from the field/community/court for creating positive and engaging experiences for girls and women in sports and physical activity.

Happy New Year on behalf of our Founder & Humanitarian Ray Lilja, who founded the program in 2011, and the rest of Chicago Youth Foundation. Also a BIG thanks to all of our dedicated volunteers!

We love sharing our sport with the community. You can also get involved too, in whatever capacity you have! We have many open positions for paid or volunteer coaches, medical trainees & professionals, as well as organizational leadership opportunities available for almost ALL ages. It is with great sadness that we mourn the tragic death of Affton Americans and CBC player Colin Brown. Colin was a great player, teammate, and friend as well as a loving brother and son. We are devastated by this tragedy and send our heartfelt sympathies to his family.

Our Story

Chicago Youth Foundation, a Women and Minority Directed Initiative utilizes the time and talents of volunteer coaches and mentors, along with the support of the McFetridge Sports Center, the Morgan Park Sports Center, Johnny’s Ice House, the Ridgeland Commons Ice Arena and others to bring the great sport of hockey and figure skating to Chicago area youth who would otherwise be unable to afford to participate. Chicago Youth Foundation was founded in 2011 as an opportunity to bring about social change through ice sports. Our Learn To Skate Chicago, Chicago Loop Figure Skating and Hockey On Your Block programs are intended for underserved youth in the Chicago area. We make hockey & figure skating accessible by providing instruction, equipment and ice time at no cost to our participants and their families. Building sportsmanship, character, individual discipline, and teamwork are all components of the program which drives youth toward positive outcomes in sport, education, and life.
