Urban Warriors

OG Urban Warrior.

We are proud of George julian salazar for completing his internship with Ald. Michael D. Rodriguez .

This is what the work looks like.

We talk about building human capital through social capital….creating relationships, opening doors, and giving our young people opportunities to learn, lead, and see themselves in spaces where decisions are made.

Sometimes that impact is hard to see in the moment. But THEY are coming…..

Then you see George.

A young person who grew up with Urban Warriors, in our neighborhood of Little Village….now gaining experience in public service and investing in the same community that invested in him.

This is the work. This is the return.

We are building leaders from our community. For our community.

We are Urban Warriors.

For the first time in Little Village history, a major organization like IWSL is coming to our community to bring competitive sports opportunities directly to our girls. This is bigger than soccer, it’s about access, visibility, and showing our young women that they belong and need to take up space.

Huge gratitude to Noelle Schmitt from the for believing in our Guerreras and helping make this possible. Your commitment to creating opportunities for girls in our community means everything.

A special thank you to Flo for sponsoring all of our teams and investing in the future of Little Village youth. Your support allows our girls to continue competing, growing, and representing our neighborhood with pride.

Major shoutout to our Director of Operations & Impact, Lopez, for helping bring this vision to life for our Guerreras. Behind every opportunity like this is hard work, coordination, and people who truly care about our youth.

We Build Human Capital.

Our coaches recently completed U.S. Soccer training, strengthening their ability to mentor, teach, and lead the next generation of athletes and community leaders.

We’re proud to keep raising the standard for the youth in our community.

Today we celebrate National Women Coaches Day and the incredible leaders guiding the next generation of Urban Warriors.

Our women coaches are more than just coaches—they are Latinas currently competing at the collegiate level, bringing their experience, discipline, and passion back to their community! They are showing our young athletes what is possible when you lead with grit, cultura, and purpose.

By stepping into these leadership roles, they are paving the way for the next generation of girls to see themselves not only as athletes, but as leaders, mentors, and role models.

To our women coaches: thank you for investing your time, your voice, and your heart into our youth. The impact you’re making today will shape our communities for years to come.
Happy National Women Coaches Day!
