Four years ago this month we achieved our biggest policy win for our longest ever campaign and repealed forced parental notification of abortion (PNA) in Illinois through the Youth Health and Safety Act (HB 370). After 10+ years of educating, organizing, making art, and advocating we were able to get school, family, and health care systems to and no longer force parental involvement as of June 1, 2022. But, we know the work does not stop there because all young people, regardless of the state they live in, deserve bodily autonomy in their s*xual and reproductive health care.
We are partnering with a reproductive rights organization to create a toolkit to support advocates wanting to conduct public education on youth abortion access and repeal forced parental involvement laws in their states. And we want to include your experience, reflections, and guidance in our materials!
Whether you were an ICAH Youth Alum, program participant, family member, past staff, educator, facilitator, organizer, artist, theatre artist, coalition partner, or an organizational partner and collaborator, if you participated in our PNA campaign or other advocacy work in any way, we want to hear from you!
Please complete this short anonymous survey by Wednesday, November 5, to have your feedback included in our toolkit. Your thoughts and experience in our campaigns will help support the Reproductive Rights, Health, and Justice movement and be more effective in supporting youth access to abortion care. We deeply appreciate your commitment to youth bodily autonomy and Reproductive Justice and look forward to reading your responses!
