The storms have left many of our friends and neighbors facing challenges we never expected. ❤️

We hope you and your loved ones are safe and beginning the long process of recovering. We know this has been a difficult few weeks, and we completely understand that right now many families are focused on rebuilding, cleaning up, and taking care of one another.

If attending our gala isn't possible this year, we truly understand.

But there is one incredibly meaningful way you can help that doesn't cost a single penny.

If you prefer to drop off in person, our drop off days/hours are typically:

Tuesdays 9-1
Wednesdays 9-5
Thursdays 9-1 (with the exception of 8/27)
Most Saturdays 12-2 pm

(If you need a different drop off day/time than what is listed above, please call 219-766-3341 to arrange for someone to meet you over there)!

To our incredible MAKS community…thank you. ❤️

A couple of weeks ago, we shared an urgent need for some items, including Pack ‘n Plays and women’s deodorant. As always, you responded with kindness and generosity.

In just the last two days since this picture was taken, 5 Pack ’n Plays and 10 sticks of women’s deodorant have already been given to children and teens entering foster care or being placed with loving relatives during an incredibly difficult time in their lives.

These numbers are a reminder that the need in Northwest Indiana is real. When we post our most-needed items, it’s because we know children and caregivers will need them—often with little to no notice.

Because of you, families are able to focus a little less on finding basic necessities and a little more on helping children feel safe, cared for, and loved.

Thank you for standing with these children and for being the heart of the MAKS community. Your generosity brings comfort and hope when it’s needed most.

Another way to support these children is to get the word out about our upcoming gala. Our “Paint the Town Red” gala is quickly approaching, and we could really use your help. As kids head back to school, we are also in need of new school supplies to help ensure every child starts the year with the essentials.

We want to give the biggest THANK YOU to Delta Theta Tau Valparaiso chapter for thinking of MAKS and for their incredibly generous donation to our organization!

We truly cannot express how much this generosity means to us. MAKS simply could not continue to serve children and families at the capacity we do without the support of our community. It truly takes a village, and we are so incredibly thankful to have amazing people and organizations like Delta Theta Tau in our corner. 🫶

Never in our wildest dreams did we think MAKS would grow this much or make this kind of impact in our community. Every long day, every tear, every struggle and every bit of hard work is worth it when we see what this village has been able to accomplish together.

Drop off address is:

(Our unit is the one that is closest to 20).

Items can be dropped off Monday thru Friday before 5. If no one is there during drop off, you can always try and ring our doorbell for assistance.
You can also leave it right outside our front door *as long as it is not raining* and someone will be back to bring it inside ♥️
