Please go and support Post 170 American Legion, Chesterton, IN Troop 929 and their Nelson's Chicken and Potato Fundraiser today from 10am to 2pm. $10 for a half Chicken and $6 for a cup of potatoes at Ace Hardware on Calumet in Valpo! Come on out and support our Scouts!!

We were so happy to host the Dunes Moraine District, LaSalle Council, Scouting America Pinewood Derby today at Post 170 American Legion, Chesterton, IN! Congrats to all our participants on qualifying for District in design or speed, and to our winners today! 🏎️ We sent home trophies for Top 3 overall + Top racer in each rank! Hope everyone had a good time 😊

We were happy to join Takhone Lodge #7 and Pathway to Adventure Council this morning to check out all the signs of spring on a longgggg hike at Indiana Dunes State Park for the 70th Annual Potawatomi Trail Hike! 🪻🌱 These scouts were troopers on a 4-6 mile hike (depending on if they continued on to the beach) - the longest hike for many of these cubs! Thank you Takhone Lodge for being our guides on the hike, we had a great morning!

⚜️ We are so proud of our 5th grade Arrow of Light scouts who are moving on from Cub Scouts! The journey ahead is bright for these 10 amazing kids. One scout has joined Troop 929 and six joined Troop 998, both Chesterton troops. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for them! We are so grateful for all of their leaders over the years AND we are so glad that they will still be with the pack for awhile longer! Thanks for hosting such a fun Pokemon party for your crossover ceremony!

🦁 Is there anything better than a muddy hike with your friends when you’re 6 years old? 🦁 Our littlest Lion Scouts enjoyed the National Park Free Day today at Indiana Dunes National Park Chellberg Farm while burning off some energy outside! Hope everyone got to spend some time enjoying the weather today!
