🌿 Barclay Farm Covered Bridge Entrance Island Cleanup Update

What a tremendous effort by our Barclay Farm Civic Association volunteers! We're excited to share the progress being made to beautify our neighborhood entrances.

✅ Removed 15 bags of vegetation waste ✅ Cleared invasive ivy, including eliminating ivy from the Holly tree ✅ Added lighted American flags to help celebrate our nation's 250th Anniversary ✅ Sprinkler systems will be repaired and turned back on soon ✅ Mulching is underway and will be completed this week

Once this work is finished, we'll be turning our attention to the West Gate Entrance to continue improving the appearance of our community.

These projects are made possible by neighbors who care and are willing to donate their time and talents. We need additional volunteers to help with upcoming workdays, and donations are always greatly appreciated to support materials and maintenance costs.

Thank you to everyone who has pitched in so far. Together, we're making Barclay Farm a more beautiful and welcoming place to call home! 🌱🏡

Updates on projects throughout town. ⬇️

Take special note of Kresson & Browning as that has the potential to directly impact us.

Kresson Road (Camden County/NJAW project):
Monday-Thursday, 6AM-4:30PM, between Heartwood Dr & Middle Acre Ln, drainage work will continue with lane shifts or alternating traffic. No detours during the day.

Tuesday evening, construction for water main upgrades near the intersection of Kresson Rd and Browning Lane will begin and 7:00pm and continue overnight until 6:00am Wednesday. Browning Ln will be closed to all but local traffic overnight between Kresson Rd and S Woodleigh Dr.

Monday-Thursday, 6AM-4:30PM, and Friday, 6AM-2:30PM, construction will continue between Cropwell & Springdale Rds. There will be a one-way detour of westbound traffic. Traffic traveling toward Springdale Rd will be directed down Cropwell to Evesham to Springdale back to Kresson Rd.

Springdale Road – North of Rt 70 (Camden County project):
Monday-Friday, 7AM-3PM, drainage upgrades from the Mt Laurel border to Esterbrook Ln, with one lane open in each direction.

Haddonfield-Berlin Road (Cherry Hill Twp project)
Monday-Friday, 7AM-3:30PM, crews are installing sidewalks on the westbound side, between Walt Whitman Blvd and Rue du Bois, with a right lane closure.

Old Orchard Road (NJ American Water project):
Monday, Thursday and Friday, 7AM-3:30PM, construction for water main upgrades on Old Orchard Rd between Sharp School and Rte 70, Monday-Friday

Please follow posted detours and allow extra travel time.

Important! Over the past few nights, multiple neighbors have had their cars rummaged through. CHPD reminds us that a locked car is our first defense. 🔐

Before you turn in for the night, take a moment to check your vehicle.

✔️ Remove all keys and key fobs
✔️ Lock every door
✔️ Close all windows
✔️ Take valuables inside
✔️ Never leave a spare key in the vehicle

Vehicle theft is often preventable when drivers take away the opportunity. Even when parked in your driveway, keys should never be left inside, and doors should always be secured.

A quick check tonight could prevent a much bigger problem tomorrow.

Thank you to our residents for remaining vigilant, looking out for one another, and helping us keep Cherry Hill safe.

Sections of nearby neighborhoods including Kingston, Kresson Woods, and Haddontowne are all dealing with flooded areas.

Kresson is CLOSED as of now between Covered Bridge and Pearlcroft.

HAPPENING NOW

CHFD Units are operating at a dwelling fire in the 500 Block of Kresson Road.

Kresson Rd will be closed between Pearl Croft Rd and Covered Bridge Rd for approximately one hour due to Fire Department activity. Please seek alternate routes.

Hunt Tract: head’s up! 🛶

From Cherry Hill Township:

In an effort to determine how we might improve water quality at various lakes around town, including the lake off Munn Lane, the Township will be using a contractor to conduct water testing starting next week. During this time, you may see a small boat on the water. A member of our Township Engineering team will be onsite, and the contractor will also have contact information for our Engineering office. If residents in your neighborhood have questions, they may call Engineering at 856-424-3203. Thank you.

Brace Road (State Rt 154)
NJ Dept of Transportation Project
Northbound Closure – Bortons Mill to Pearlcroft Rds
Starting June 22

The NJ Dept of Transportation will be completing gas main repairs on Brace Rd northbound between Bortons Mill & Pearlcroft Rds starting June 22.

The northbound lane will be closed Monday thru Friday, 9AM to 5PM, excluding weekends and the July 4 holiday. Traffic traveling northbound toward Rt 70 will be detoured at Bortons Mill Rd; the southbound lane will remain open. Work is expected to last thru the end of July. Please follow the posted detour and allow additional travel time.
